Apart from her extensive film, television, and Broadway career, fans will likely best know the Disney Legend for her role as Shenzi in The Lion King (1994). However, she has also provided voice acting for a few Disney Junior productions, as well as Queen Constantina in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (1997), and even hosted “Golden Dreams” at the original Disney California Adventure Park.
During the holiday season, the EGOT winning actress was to act as the Celebrity Narrator for the December 2 and 3 performances of the EPCOT Candlelight Processional. The Candlelight Processional is a tradition during the International Festival of the Holidays that presents the “stirring story of Christmas” alongside a stunning group of choirs.

In particular, Cast Members make up one of the choirs during the performance, the Disney employees who complete all operations, Guest Services, and performances at the Parks and Resorts.
Truly, it’s become a wonderful way for Disney to give back to their Cast Members and provide an opportunity for not only community during the holidays, but recognition for all they do to make magic at work.

What’s more, Twitter user named Heather, who was herself a Cast Member, posted a video of Goldberg giving a speech while hosting the Christmas performance:

In it, Whoopi addresses the audience, reminding them to be grateful not just for the moving display, but for the hard work Cast Members put in year-round to make Guests’ visits special:
All of these people, these are folks you will meet in the Park ’cause these are folks who work in the Park and they come every year… That’s why you always have to be kind and gracious to people ’cause you never know who you’re gonna run into!
How apt a sentiment for the giving season! Guests can view the Cast Members’ choir during EPCOT’s CandleLight Processional each night in the America Gardens Theatre at 5:15 , 7:00 or 8:30 p.m.
However, Whoopi Goldberg’s time as Narrator has ended, though there are plenty of other talented stars to come! Click here for more information.
