Disney World Just Brought Back This FREE Amenity for Resort Guests

The Walt Disney World Resort just brought back a long-missed perk for Resort Guests that is sure to make your next trip to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” even easier (for both you, and your wallet!)

While Disney has been making several changes to its Resorts that some fans have been critical of, the company just made one very positive change, bringing back a bit of the magic that had set Disney Resorts apart from others in the industry for years.

Effective immediately, Disney World has reversed fees for Guests who park a car during their stay at a Disney Resort. After several years of required parking fees, Guests will once again be able to enjoy complimentary self-parking, making their arrival (and their bill) at Walt Disney World that much easier.

Parking fees have been in place for overnight Guests at Disney Resorts since 2018, when Disney made the change that, while unpopular, was consistent with much of the hotel industry. Parking fees varied based on the Resort level a Guest was staying at, with $15 per night for Value Resorts, $20 per night for Moderate Resorts, and $25 per night for Deluxe Resorts.

Regarding the update and the return of complimentary self-parking, the Disney Parks Blog shared:

This is a Disney difference many of you have asked us to bring back, and we’re happy to reintroduce it to make your vacation a little easier and more affordable – whether you’re road tripping across the country, renting a car or vacationing as a local Florida resident. As a reminder, Disney Resort hotel guests also continue to receive complimentary standard parking at Walt Disney World theme parks, daily early theme park entry (with valid admission and a park reservation) and complimentary on-site transportation options such as buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner.

Complimentary self-parking will make it easier to rent a car during your stay, or drive your own vehicle, especially for those who live closeby. Having more room in your budget to bring your own car can also help with stocking up on groceries or snacks for your hotel room, and having a quick way to head out of the theme parks if little ones (or the grownups!) need a break.

Valet parking will continue to come with a fee at Disney Resorts, and no changes have been announced in terms of parking at Disney theme parks (though Resort Guests do receive complimentary parking at the Parks, too.) We will continue to monitor any additional updates out of Walt Disney World and will share more information as we have it here on Disney Tips.
