Happy New Year! 2023 is already shaping up to be an incredible year to visit Walt Disney World and Disney Parks and Resorts around the world.
Here in Orlando, “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort will continue to run with special events, decorative touches, food, merchandise, and shows through March 31, 2023. And this month, the Disneyland Resort will help kick off Disney100, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company.

As excited as we are to ring in the New Year and started planning our 2023 trip to Walt Disney World, we can’t help but notice one glaring promise that Disney has now dropped the ball on since it was supposed to happen in 2022.
Going back to December 2021, things were moving right along at Disney Parks in terms of bringing back pre-pandemic offerings and returning to normal as COVID-era restrictions had begun to be removed altogether. Disney World still has several amenities that are missing today, but there was one piece that was announced for a 2022 return on December 2, 2021:
Driver you are clear…to spread a little holiday cheer! Parking trams will be returning to Magic Kingdom Park later this month and other Walt Disney World theme parks throughout 2022!✨ pic.twitter.com/KpJyBZfTBu

That’s right, it may have slipped under the radar if you did not have a chance to make it to Walt Disney World in 2022, but two Disney Parks are still without parking trams. As the official Disney Parks tweet mentions, trams did return to the Transportation and Ticket Center for Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom in December 2021. And, the courtesy trams from the parking lot to the theme park entrance returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in spring 2022.
As for EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, both parks remain without trams as of this writing on January 1, 2023, leaving Guests with a potentially very long walk to the Park entrance in the morning or back to their vehicles in the evening.

By the end of 2022, Disney had not shared an update on the status of the parking trams at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and additional information on the amenity had been removed from its official website.
With no opening date confirmed so far, we at Disney Tips will continue to monitor updates out of Walt Disney World and will be back with new information as we have it.
