1. Chef Mickey’s

If you want to see Mickey in his traditional attire and enjoy a party-like atmosphere while you’re at it, Chef Mickey’s is where you need to go. This buffet-style restaurant is located in the Contemporary Resort, making it a convenient option on your Magic Kingdom day, as this hotel is within walking distance of the park. While Mickey is always present at this meal and happy to greet guests, you will almost certainly get to meet a couple of other characters too. These could include Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Pluto, and/or Goofy. Make sure to bring that autograph book, as you might just fill a few different pages during this meal—and don’t be afraid to get up and join the fun that happens throughout the mealtime!

2. ‘Ohana

An amazing Polynesian-themed dining experience during dinner hours, ‘Ohana is actually equally as amazing in the morning when it becomes a character breakfast joint. Currently, the characters at this meal include Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, and of course, Mickey Mouse. Because ‘Ohana is located in the Polynesian Resort, and because this resort is on the monorail route, this is another great option for a Magic Kingdom day. Additionally, the inclusion of Lilo and Stitch makes this a desirable character meal because these two beloved friends are a bit harder to find elsewhere. If you choose this option, we highly recommend leaving yourself some time to explore the Polynesian Resort after your meal. This is one of the original Disney World Resorts, and it is absolutely amazing in terms of theming and Disney magic.

3. Garden Grill

Looking for a Mickey character meal in Epcot? Look no further than Garden Grill. This restaurant is super fun because the whole dining area actually rotates, giving guests a view of several different scenes from the “Living with the Land” ride below. The food is served family-style, meaning it’s brought out on platters from which guests serve themselves. Characters are present at every meal of the day, and the characters include Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Mickey himself—all in farmer clothes. We find that this particular restaurant is a great option for those looking for plenty of entertainment while they dine. It’s also great for those who don’t like to plan too far in advance, as reservations tend to be fairly easy to get.

4. Tusker House

Those who are Animal Kingdom bound should book their character dining at Tusker House. This eatery serves up some super yummy food, with some dishes inspired by African cuisine along with traditional American fare. Donald Duck and his friends (including Mickey) are present all day long and make every meal extra special with lots of fun and games. On top of all that, the safari attire worn by the attending characters makes for some pretty great photo opportunities, so be sure to bring a camera. All in all, Tusker House is one of our favorite character meals on Disney property, and is easily the best dining option in Animal Kingdom. In fact, if you’re trying to choose an option from this list and are feeling on the fence, we highly recommend picking this one.

5. Hollywood & Vine

Last but not least, we must mention the Mickey character dining option for those planning a day at Hollywood Studios. Hollywood & Vine is located right in the middle of the park, making it easy to access no matter where you happen to be when mealtime rolls around. That said, Mickey Mouse isn’t always available to greet guests at this location. When he is available, it is during one of the special seasonal character dining experiences hosted by Minnie Mouse, and you can always expect to see all attending characters in amazing and unique seasonal garb, making the whole experience even more fun.
