A mother recently shared an unsettling experience involving a Disney cast member who, according to her, repeatedly questioned her about breastfeeding during a visit to the park. The woman took to social media to detail the incident and sought advice on whether she should report the encounter to Disneyland Resort management.

Disney cast members are known for creating the magic that makes a visit to the parks memorable, and all employees undergo thorough training to ensure they provide excellent service and maintain appropriate standards when interacting with guests. However, this story highlights how, despite the best efforts of the majority, there are occasional lapses in behavior.

While spending time in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, u/Powerful-Singer3192 (the Redditor who shared the experience) was pushing a stroller as her husband bottle-fed their baby. During a brief stop to dispose of a coffee cup, the guest encountered an interaction with a cast member that left her feeling “harassed” and uncomfortable.

The male Disney cast member approached the family and said, “Caffeine transfers over you know.” The mother assumed the comment referred to her baby and responded with a simple, “Oh, okay,” signaling her lack of interest in further conversation. However, the cast member didn’t let it go.

“He persisted and said ‘Are you breast feeding?’” the guest recalled, a question that immediately made her feel uneasy. “And I immediately (rubbed the wrong way and uncomfortably) said ‘No I’m not’ and just looked away from him and to my partner again, insinuating I didn’t really want to talk to him… He kept talking to me saying caffeine transfers when [you’re] breast feeding, ‘I remember when my kids were young my wife would label her breast milk AM and PM because one makes them sleepy and one wires them up…’ and kept [talking].”

Despite her obvious discomfort, the conversation continued, and the Disney Park guest finally decided to walk away.

“I’m not confrontational and also this was my first trip post partum,” she explained in her post. “I felt uncomfortable and he kept talking about breast feeding to me (we literally were feeding him a blue similac formula bottle so you could literally see the label similac…) idk should I have reported it??? I felt bad I don’t want someone losing their job but also you shouldn’t just walk up to women and ask them weird stuff.!???”

The mother’s post quickly sparked reactions from Disney Parks fans, many encouraging her to report the inappropriate behavior.

“Nothing about that interaction was ok,” u/desert_red_head commented. “Please file a complaint. How you feed your baby is certainly none of his business, and he should not be using his role as a CM for pushing his agenda on breastfeeding.”

“This guy is a creep,” u/glitterolives replied.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where a cast member’s behavior makes you uncomfortable, you can report the incident to Guest Services in person or through the Disneyland Resort website. Provide as many details as possible so management can appropriately address the situation.
