For those who have missed cruising since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is back but may look slightly different from what you are used to. The cruise line industry has had so many obstacles in its way, and it’s getting a lot of backlash, and many people are saying it is unsafe.

Especially with Disney Cruise Line, there are extra safety protocols to ensure that all Guests and Crew Members are as safe as possible.

All Guests 12 and older are required to be fully vaccinated to sail with Disney Cruise Line. You must also test at the port before getting on board the ship.

There have been changes with different safety protocols in place, but Disney clarified some questions that have been asked. Some people that test positive for COVID-19 who have fully recovered will still test positive after they are no longer contagious or sick. Those Guests have no risk of spreading COVID-19 to others and have been cleared.

That can be scary for Guests to have a Disney Cruise coming up, wondering if they will then test positive still once they get to the port. Disney puts some Guests mind at ease by sharing the statement on their website:

“Guests Recently Recovered from COVID-19: In some cases, people who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may still test positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. If Guests have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 within 11 to 90 days of their sail date, they may qualify to be considered as “90-Day-Recovered.” With the appropriate documentation and subsequent approval, Guests considered “90-Day-Recovered” are not required to participate in COVID-19 testing during the Pre-Sail, Embarkation or Disembarkation phases of their voyage. For details on what documentation is required, please visit Before Leaving Home: Know Before You Go.”

Disney is looking out for the safety of everyone but still wants that balance of being able to travel once again. Recently Disney announced Pixar Day at Sea and that Marvel Day at Sea will be returning in 2023. With so many exciting cruise options available, you should start saving now to book your next trip.
