According to new details, Vacation Fun–An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie at the Mickey Shorts Theater will temporarily close beginning April 29, 2026. While closures at Walt Disney World are nothing new, the reason behind this one highlights a growing trend that continues to reshape how guests experience the parks.

A Short Break for Mickey

The Mickey Shorts Theater has been home to Vacation Fun, a lighthearted animated short featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse in a fast-paced, colorful adventure inspired by the modern Mickey Mouse cartoon style.

The attraction has served as a reliable stop for guests looking to escape the Florida heat, offering a brief but entertaining indoor experience. However, that experience will soon be unavailable.

The space will transform into a dedicated retail and event location for a May the Fourth merchandise release, marking another example of Disney leaning heavily into event-driven offerings.
