Disney Tips Your Guide To A Great Disney Vacation
It might only be June, but that does not mean that Disney isn’t thinking ahead to the spookiest time of the year. Yes, we are talking about Halloween, specifically Oogie Boogie Bash, held in Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort. This year, Oogie Boogie Bash will begin earlier than ever, with the first party taking place on August 17.
Tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash go on sale in less than two weeks, and Disney recently released party details, including new Halloween looks for Mickey and Minnie Mouse and brand-new posters for the event.

One of the posters released by Disney showed many of the villains who will be at Oogie Boogie Bash this year, including Hades, Agatha Harkness, Ernesto de la Cruz, Judge Doom, and, of course, Oogie Boogie himself. Oogie Boogie Bash is full of immersive trick-or-treat trails where guests can load up on candy and interact with some of their favorite villains.
The second poster featured Mickey and Minnie standing on Buena Vista Street in their Oogie Boogie Bash best. Behind them is a shadow of Oogie Boogie and more villains — including Ursula, Cruella de Vil, and Captain Hook — line the street behind them.
And it is this poster that kicked off one heck of a debate.

Shortly after Disney shared the new images promoting Oogie Boogie Bash, they were quickly accused of using artificial intelligence to create them. Social media users zoomed in on Mickey’s left hand, claiming that its shape indicated that it was made using AI.
Many people were extremely bothered by the fact that Disney might be using AI, considering a recent lawsuit they filed against Midjourney, a company that uses text descriptions to generate AI images.
In the lawsuit, Disney, along with Universal, claimed that the platform was a “bottomless pit of plagiarism,” which unlawfully used Disney’s intellectual property to train models. The company allegedly used images of Elsa from Frozen (2013) and Star Wars villain Darth Vader.

However, Disney has spoken out on the controversy and clarified that the images were NOT created using AI. Disney insider Scott Gustin reached out to the Mouse House, which confirmed they were created by talented Disney artists.

There was also no AI used to create the maps showing the interactive treat trails that guests will enjoy during the Halloween bash. The map also featured the parade route for the Frightfully Fun Parade and hinted that there was a new character coming to Pixar Pier this year. The last couple of years, Sid from the Toy Story franchise had been in that area.
Oogie Boogie Bash will take place on select nights from August 17 through October 31, with general admission tickets going on sale on June 26. Inspire Magic Key Holders will be able to purchase tickets beginning June 24, and Believe, Enchant, and Imagine Magic Key Holders will be able to purchase tickets beginning June 25.
