Subtropical storm Nicole is gearing up to make landfall on Florida by this Thursday, November 10, 2022. The storm will bring with it 35-45 MPH sustained winds with gusts up to 65 MPH, and according to the latest forecasts, it is very possible that the system will become a hurricane by the time it reaches the coast.
The Walt Disney World Resort has already announced initial closures for areas of the property that could be most impacted by the severe weather (and we are continuing to monitor any further updates), but changes are also on the way for Guests sailing with Disney Cruise Line this week.

Disney Cruise Line Blog shared the itinerary updates sent out to Guests sailing this week on the Disney Dream and the Disney Wish. Guests sailing aboard the Disney Dream now have an extra day at sea added to this week’s itinerary while those on the Disney Wish will have a port day in Cozumel rather than a stop in the Bahamas.
Disney Cruise Line also contacted Guests booked on this week’s sails regarding the cancellation policies of excursions for the destinations no longer included on these cruises. Excursions booked through Disney will automatically be removed from Guests’ reservations, however, if you booked any excursions in the Bahamas through a third-party company, you will want to confirm what the cancellation policy will be given the storm.

If the following sailings on either ships are affected at all due to potential delays from storm Nicole, Disney Cruise Line will contact Guests who have booked directly and will likely post an update on its website, too.
As for Walt Disney World, the Resort announced closures this morning then rescinded its announcement to only include select experiences on property. We have included the latest update from the Walt Disney World Resort in this article.
We will continue to monitor the response of both Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line to subtropical storm Nicole and will report back with additional updates as we have them here on Disney Tips. In the meantime, be sure to follow all recommended safety guidelines if you are cruising or visiting Florida during this time, and stay safe!
