Disney Tips Your Guide To A Great Disney Vacation
It’s been nine years since Disney fans were brought into the world of Zootopia, a city populated by anthropomorphic animals. The different animal groups live in their own part of the city, places like Tundratown, Outback Island, the Rainforest District, and the Nocturnal District. Optimistic rabbit Judy Hopps leaves her family farm to become a police officer in Zootopia and is soon thrown into a world of deception and danger, where predatory animals go missing and then turn up as wild animals who can’t be controlled.

Zootopia was a massive success for Walt Disney Animation, grossing more than $1 billion at the global box office. It was the fourth-highest-grossing movie of 2016, behind three other Disney films — Captain America: Civil War, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Finding Dory.
Shortly after Zootopia was released, talks of a sequel quickly began, but it was not until 2023 that Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Zootopia 2 was in the works. But in the time in between, Disney did not forget about the franchise, releasing a series called Zootopia+ on its streaming service, Disney+, in 2022.
Now, we are just six months away from the world premiere of Zootopia 2, and Disney is finally giving us some story details!

Guests attending the Annecy International Animation Film Festival were given a sneak peek at the new film and new details on what Nick and Judy’s new story will be.
In Zootopia 2 , Nick and Judy must investigate the arrival of a slippery new Zootopia resident, the venomous Gary De’Snake, who is voiced by Ke Huy Quan. Nick and Judy must go undercover to find out what Gary is up to, as he is a wanted criminal.
Audiences were also given a new look at Quinta Brunson’s Dr. Fuzzby, a quokka who is Nick and Judy’s therapist. Then, there’s Nibbles Maplestick (Fortune Feimster), a conspiracy-minded Beaver who lives in Marsh Market, a new location introduced in the sequel.

In addition to Ginnifer Goodwin returning as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman coming back as Nick Wilde, pop star Shakira will return as Gazelle, and she has also recorded a new song for the sequel.
In an exciting Annecy announcement, it was revealed that famed writer and director Ron Clements was coming out of retirement and returning to Disney to mentor young writers and animators.
Zootopia 2 was written by Jared Bush and directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard. The film will hit theaters nationwide on November 26, 2025.
