A recent TikTok video from user @laurengabrielle14 has been clocking up views on social media, capturing a scene that many theme park visitors will find all too familiar — the brutal reality of visiting a park on an unexpectedly scorching day. Filmed at Disneyland Paris during what the creator described as “the hottest day ever in Paris,” the clip shows guests wading directly into one of the park’s decorative fountains, shoes abandoned on the ground beside them.

The video amassed over 370k views and 26.4K likes, a testament to just how universally relatable–and controversial–the experience proved to be.

Disneyland Paris Recovers From Historic Heatwave

France was placed under its highest weather alert during the heatwave, and Disneyland Paris felt the impact across virtually every corner of the resort. Multiple outdoor attractions were temporarily suspended, outdoor entertainment was significantly reduced, and select dining locations were forced to close.

Even the resort’s beloved nighttime spectacular was performed without pyrotechnics, with government restrictions and wildfire risks making the usual fireworks impossible. Guests were redirected toward indoor and air-conditioned experiences as cast members worked tirelessly to manage exceptionally difficult conditions.

The viral TikTok sparked a deeply divided response. The overwhelming majority condemned guests for entering the World of Frozen fountain, with many describing the behavior as “disrespectful,” “shameful,” and “tacky.” Questions were raised as to why cast members had not intervened sooner, with some calling for fines or temporary park bans. Fans of the attraction were particularly vocal, with one commenter writing that seeing guests in the fountain while dressed as Anna would have “made me cry,” while another joked that Olaf must have stopped his meet-and-greet because “he melted.”

However, a sizeable portion of commenters took a more sympathetic view of the circumstances. Many pointed to the record-breaking temperatures, with several visitors insisting conditions felt even more intense than a summer trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Central Florida. Critics argued the resort lacked sufficient shaded areas, cooling stations, and misting zones, suggesting Disney bore some responsibility. The irony of guests experiencing a Frozen-themed land during a heatwave was not lost on anyone, with jokes about Elsa and “Frozenland in summer” becoming a recurring theme throughout the debate.

Three Months On: The Expansion That Changed Everything

The heatwave arrived at a particularly significant moment in Disneyland Paris’ history. Just three months earlier, the resort had completed one of the most ambitious expansions in its entire existence — the opening of Disney Adventure World, the sweeping reimagining of the former Walt Disney Studios Park.

The transformation brought the debut of Adventure Way, Adventure Bay, and most notably, the highly anticipated World of Frozen, which instantly became one of the resort’s flagship lands.

Disney Confirms Historic Change: World of Frozen Joins Disney Enchanted Christmas

But Disneyland Paris is already looking ahead and, in doing so, has confirmed a historic first for the resort. World of Frozen will participate in Disney Enchanted Christmas for the very first time, with the resort announcing the news via social media with a typically festive flourish:

“It’s 6 months until Christmas! 🎄🎁 And this year, World of Frozen will join in the Disney Enchanted Christmas festivities from 7th November at @disneylandparis! ❄️⛄️”

Disney Enchanted Christmas is already one of Disneyland Paris’ most beloved seasonal events, transforming the resort each winter with sweeping decorations, exclusive entertainment, character meet-and-greets in festive costumes, holiday dining, and limited-edition merchandise. The addition of a Christmas-themed World of Frozen — a land already built around snow, ice, and winter wonder — feels almost tailor-made for the season. Disney Enchanted Christmas 2026 runs from November 7, 2026, through January 6, 2027.

About Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
