A guest staying at a Disney hotel has alleged that medication was taken from their room during a holiday visit, prompting renewed discussion around security and housekeeping access at Disney resorts during peak travel periods.

The claim surfaced online amid a busy Christmas season that has already seen multiple guest-reported incidents across Disney properties, from thefts near resort hotels to altercations inside the parks.

Disney hotels are often viewed as secure environments, particularly for international travelers. Incidents involving guest rooms tend to draw heightened attention, even when based on individual accounts.

This latest report centers on a stay at Disneyland Paris and involves medication that the guest says disappeared while they were away from their room.

Guest Alleges Medication Went Missing During Hotel Stay

According to a Reddit post shared earlier this week, the guest arrived at their Disney hotel shortly before midday and was granted early check-in after traveling overnight.

ā€œWe arrived yesterday 11am, were lucky to be given early check in to our room at a Disney hotel,ā€ the guest wrote. ā€œWe’d been travelling since 6pm the night before so we’re very happy as knackered.ā€

After unpacking, the guest said valuables were placed in the room safe before leaving briefly for dinner and a ride in the parks.

ā€œWe were nipping to Walt’s for dinner, one ride and back to hotel for sleep,ā€ they wrote.

Upon returning to the room at around 6 p.m., the guest said they noticed medication was missing.

ā€œGot back to room at 18:00. I couldn’t find my meds,ā€ the post read. ā€œWhich had been in a clear bag next to another clear bag of less important meds and my wash bag on the table.ā€

The guest reported the issue the following morning. According to the post, housekeeping had entered the room during their absence.

ā€œHousekeeping had been in during the afternoon as the bin was emptied and had been put back under the table,ā€ they wrote.

Hotel management advised the guest on next steps, which included obtaining a replacement prescription.

ā€œReported to hotel management who advised I have to call 112 to have a doctor prescribe for me,ā€ the guest wrote. ā€œThen concierge will drive me to a pharmacy and the hotel will cover prescription costs.ā€

The situation was complicated by holiday closures.

ā€œWe can’t do that until tomorrow as pharmacies are closed and the nearest open is an hours drive away,ā€ they added.

The guest described feeling distressed by the situation.

ā€œAbsolutely fuming and feel violated,ā€ they wrote. ā€œBut it’s Christmas and I won’t/can’t let it affect our trip.ā€

The medication was opioid-based and required paperwork to bring into France. The guest acknowledged that it had not been placed in the safe.

ā€œYes I’m pissed at myself for not locking them away,ā€ they wrote, ā€œbut we live and learn.ā€

Other Guests Share Similar Experiences Online

The post prompted responses from other users who said they had experienced similar issues at Disneyland Paris hotels in the past.

ā€œWe had this happen a few years ago,ā€ one commenter wrote. ā€œWe popped in to drop off luggage get changed and head to the parks in the morning.ā€

They claimed their room had been disturbed while they were away.

ā€œWhen we arrived back in the evening our room had been totally ransacked stripped,ā€ the comment continued. ā€œFront desk didn’t want to know told us we would have to file a police report.ā€

Another commenter described a more ambiguous experience involving medication.

ā€œThis is interesting because when I last went, I’m certain housekeeping took my half-used pack of contraceptive pills,ā€ they wrote. ā€œBut I told myself I must be crazy.ā€

The commenter said reading similar accounts changed that perception.

ā€œI’ve since read multiple posts about people’s medication vanishing from the room,ā€ they added.

Disney has not issued a public response to the specific allegations. The claims are based on guest reports and have not been independently verified.

Disneyland Paris operates multiple on-site hotels with varying themes and price points, including the Disneyland Hotel, Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, Disney Newport Bay Club, Disney Sequoia Lodge, Disney Hotel Cheyenne, Disney Hotel Santa Fe, and Disney Davy Crockett Ranch.

Over the years, guests have raised concerns about cleanliness, staffing, and access policies at these properties. In the fall, the resort also faced criticism after limiting access to the Disneyland Hotel to registered guests and those with dining reservations only.
