Caleb Graves, a social media vlogger and runner, died after participating in the Halloween Half Marathon at Disneyland Resort, per Entertainment Weekly. The 33-year-old received medical assistance shortly after crossing the finish line during Disneyland’s limited-time race at around 7 a.m. local time.
Anaheim Police Department public information officer Sgt. Matt Sutter stated that local fire and rescue teams arrived immediately to assist Graves at the end of the race course.
“They noticed he was going into cardiac arrest,” Graves told EW. “The runner crossed the finish line. As soon as he did, one of the workers at the marathon noticed the gentleman was clutching his chest.”
Graves was transported to Anaheim Global Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead approximately one hour later.
The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon is one of many runDisney events, which are held at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts. The runDisney program continues to be one of the more popular offerings outside the traditional Disney theme park experience, with thousands signing up to race annually.
The Disneyland Halloween Marathon kicked off on September 5 and lasted through September 8, 2024.

Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Good shared a statement with EW. “We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Caleb’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
In a somewhat eerie TikTok video shared one day before his death, Graves discussed passing out from heat exhaustion, saying he “really hoped” he would be able to get through the race the following day.

Graves worked as a litigation associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, though he also had a passion for vlogging and content creation. Graves had a considerable following on TikTok, making content centered around the Disney theme parks.
In previous videos, Graves can be seen attending Disney’s D23 event, which was held this August.
Temperatures exceeded 100 degrees each day of Disneyland’s marathon event, though Sgt. Sutter said it’s unclear if heat factored into Graves’ death. The Orange County Sheriff’s Coroner is currently investigating the incident.
