End of an Era: Disney Park Confirms Annual Event Will End Forever in 2027

One Disney park is preparing to put an end to an annual celebration in 2027.

No two Disney resorts are exactly alike, with each offering its own mix of attractions, entertainment, and experiences. Seasonal celebrations also vary, from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom to the vastly superior (in our eyes) Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure, while Christmas brings everything from exclusive nighttime spectaculars to holiday attraction overlays.

Certain parks also boast their own unique celebratory events beyond the likes of Halloween and Christmas. For example, EPCOT hosts its annual International Flower & Garden Festival (which next begins in March 2027), complete with elaborate Disney character topiaries, while Disney California Adventure celebrates Lunar New Year with special food, entertainment, and appearances from characters such as Mulan.

Further afield, Disneyland Paris hosted the Disney Music Festival from April to September in 2025. Meanwhile, Hong Kong Disneyland boasts an annual Duffy and Friends Play Days spring celebration.

But all good things come to an end – and now one Disney park is preparing to axe a beloved event.

Disney Resort Confirms End of Iconic Character Event

Tokyo Disney Resort has confirmed that its annual Disney Pal-Palooza will end in 2027.

Next year, Tokyo Disneyland will host its seventh and final installment of the event series, which has previously featured characters such as Donald Duck and Vanellope. Minnie’s Funderland will celebrate none other than Minnie Mouse from January 13 to March 31, 2027.

The series debuted with Minnie’s Funderland (January 10–March 19, 2024), followed by Donald’s Quacky Duck City (April 9–June 30). Vanellope’s Sweet Pop World ran January 15–March 16, 2025, before Donald returned April 8–June 30. Minnie returned January 14–March 2, 2026, followed by Vanellope April 9–June 30. This will be Minnie’s third Disney Pal-Palooza run.

The centerpiece of the celebration will be Minnie @Funderland, a 40-minute parade performed once daily. Minnie will be joined by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and other characters across six floats, with performances at three stops along the route. At night, Cinderella Castle will feature projection mapping as part of Funder Night.

Guests can also expect Minnie-themed decorations, including a giant ribbon in World Bazaar, alongside a new photo booth at the Camera Center. Exclusive merchandise, including the Dreamy Flutter Wand, will go on sale January 12, while themed treats such as Minnie Macarons and Ribbon Bread will debut on December 26, 2026, before the event officially begins.

Tokyo Disney Resort has not given a reason for ending its Disney Pal-Palooza event series, despite having run multiple variations every year since 2024. However, the resort is in the midst of several changes right now, including adding a new version of Space Mountain to Tomorrowland, debuting a brand-new Wreck-It Ralph attraction (which opens in April 2027), and developing an as-yet-unannounced attraction to replace Aquatopia at Tokyo DisneySea.

We previously visited Tokyo Disney Resort during Donald’s Quacky Duck! Duck! Duck City! in 2025 and can confirm that the Disney Pal-Palooza event series is wild and wacky fun. Tokyo Disney Resort’s guests are famously passionate about certain characters, and Donald is no exception, with crowds gathering for the event’s limited-time parade several hours in advance.

While Tokyo Disney Resort is sure to bring in some kind of replacement, Disney Pal-Palooza will be sorely missed.
