Park Hours Extended at All Four Walt Disney World Theme Parks Through October 1

Fall is historically one of the quietest times at the Walt Disney World Resort, with the back-to-school season drawing smaller crowds to each Disney Park. After quite the busy summer, however, and with added pent-up demand for theme park trips and travel in general following the pandemic, Walt Disney World is looking ahead to fall visitation and continuing to increase Disney Park hours.

In a change from historic trends, Disney currently has the leg up when planning Park hours thanks to the theme park reservation system, which CEO Bob Chapek has repeatedly indicated is here to stay. While Guests might not love the process of having to book a reservation ahead of their trip to a Disney Park, the reservation system does give Disney data on which days will be more crowded, and where Park hours should be extended to make up for the crowds.

If you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort during the remainder of the summer and into the fall, we have the extended hours you will want to note as they have been adjusted at all four Disney Parks through October 1, 2022.

The Magic Kingdom’s Park hours will already vary through October 31 due to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The updates to the Park hours then follow what we have seen in years past with the Park opening earlier on days when it closes at 6:00 p.m. due to the Party.

For the end of August, evening hours at the Park have been pushed back to 11:00 p.m. on August 28, 29, and 31, with the same change made on multiple non-party nights in September, including September 1, 3-4, 6-8, 14-15, 17, 21-22, 24, 26, and 28. Hours have also been pushed back to an 11:00 p.m. close on October 1.

And, as expected, Magic Kingdom Park is now set to open one hour earlier on party nights, including August 30, and September 2, 5, 9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 29, and 30. If you were hoping to stay in the Magic Kingdom later on one of these dates, you will need a ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (just be sure to purchase yours soon as the event is selling out quickly!)

Both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios have extended hours a half hour earlier in the mornings for the remainder of the summer and into fall. The two Parks will now be open 8:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m. from August 28-October 1, 2022.

Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom have been adjusted with a later closing time for select dates through October 1. The Park will now be open from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. on August 28, September 2-5, 10-11, 17-18, 24-25 and October 1, 2022. Remember as you plan your trip around the Park hours that select attractions may close earlier, particularly in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

You can always find the most up-to-date Park hours during your trip in the My Disney Experience app, or on Disney’s official website. Have a magical time during your next Disney vacation and happy planning!
