A popular attraction at Tokyo Disneyland is now operating under a new format each evening, as part of the park’s limited-time summer offerings.

The Happy Ride with Baymax, located in Tomorrowland, now features a different experience after 7 p.m. daily. From August 1 through September 15, the attraction will exclusively play a single track by Japanese rock band Mrs. Green Apple during all nighttime operations.

The change is part of a seasonal initiative known as The Happy Ride with Baymax – Special Version. The song had previously been one of six on rotation, but now takes over the ride’s entire soundtrack each night.

The Happy Ride with Baymax opened in 2020 and is the first Disney attraction based on Big Hero 6. The ride features Baymax-themed spinning vehicles pulled by nursebots, as well as synchronized lighting and music. It replaced the former Star Jets attraction and has become a fan-favorite, especially for guests looking for a more energetic experience.

A Cult Following at Night

Though it’s a short, family-style ride, The Happy Ride with Baymax has developed a loyal following among Tokyo Disneyland visitors. Cast members often dance along to the music, and some (or, realistically, many) guests gather near the ride just to join in or watch the atmosphere around it.

In the evenings, this has become even more common, with the energy around the attraction resembling a group dance or spontaneous event. The consistent soundtrack now gives that experience a clearer structure, with the Mrs. Green Apple song playing on repeat throughout the night.

Wait times for the attraction are already among the longest in the park and are expected to increase during this limited-time update. Disney Premier Access is available to skip the lines, but often sells out early in the day.

Part of a Broader Summer Lineup

The change to The Happy Ride with Baymax is one of several updates included in Tokyo Disney Resort’s Summer Cool-off celebration. Other seasonal offerings include a summer-themed version of Country Bear Jamboree, a more water-heavy variation of Splash Mountain, and a daytime parade called Baymax’s Mission: Cool Down, during which guests are misted with water.

These additions are aimed at helping guests stay cool during the hotter months, while also offering slightly different experiences for repeat visitors.

The Happy Ride with Baymax – Special Version runs nightly through September 15. The regular version of the ride will return after the seasonal event ends.
