Last Saturday, February 12, there was an incredible event in the Central Florida area. If you are a dog lover and live in Orlando, you may have attended Paws in the Park.

I was able to attend and even brought my little chihuahua, and he loved all the extra attention he was getting. There were different booths everywhere, from training groups, t-shirts, dog outfits, food companies, and more. There was a costume contest for dogs as well as different competitions. If you’re a dog lover, it was cuteness overload.
Last year there was a fire at the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. This was a hard hit for many, and the community came together to help an organization going through a tough time.
Hundreds of Disney VoluntEARS gave their time to help this incredible cause. They raised over $12,000 and claimed the title “top fundraising team”.
Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of Internal Affairs at Walt Disney World Resort said “We love being able to continue our long-standing tradition of giving back to the community through our Disney VoluntEARS Program. What better way for our cast to do that than alongside their furry friends at events like Paws in the Park?”

Donations like this will help the organization rebuild a new animal shelter and find forever families for more animals in the community. This also helps find low cost vet care and pet behavior consultation.
Walt Disney World has supported Paws in the Park for more than two decades, and it’s an event that Disney is proud to be a part of. Events like this are just another example of how the community comes together when someone needs it. Disney is committed to helping out local communities during the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World and kicked off with three million dollars in grants to six different organizations in the Central Florida area.
