Here is a take I will happily defend. The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival is the best festival Disney runs.
Not the most popular. Food and Wine wins that easily, and it is not close. Food and Wine has the bigger crowds, the longer run, the deeper menu, and the cultural weight that comes with thirty years of history.
But “popular” and “best” are different arguments.
Flower and Garden is the only EPCOT festival that changes what the park physically looks like. Food and Wine adds booths. Festival of the Arts adds galleries and murals. Festival of the Holidays adds lights and storytellers. All of that is layered on top of the park.
Flower and Garden transforms the park itself. Topiaries go up across every neighborhood. Beds get replanted. Entire sightlines change color. Walk into EPCOT in April, and you are looking at a genuinely different place than the one you visited in October, and it is the version of the park that photographs best by a wide margin.
If you have only ever done Food and Wine, you have not seen EPCOT at its most beautiful.
Disney has now announced when the 2027 edition will run, and it is a long one.

The 2027 Dates
The 2027 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival runs March 10 through May 31, 2027.
That is a little over eleven weeks, spanning three months and covering spring break season, Easter, and Memorial Day weekend.
For planning purposes, that range matters. The festival now covers most of the window when Central Florida weather is genuinely pleasant, which is a narrow stretch that closes fast once summer humidity arrives.
The Topiaries Are the Whole Point
The living sculptures crafted by Disney’s horticulture teams are the headline, and they should be.
Guests can expect Disney characters brought to life through elaborate topiaries scattered across:
- World Celebration
- World Discovery
- World Nature
- The World Showcase pavilions
These are not decorations dropped in a corner. They are placed as focal points throughout the park, which is why the festival reshapes how EPCOT feels rather than just adding something to do.
Alongside the character displays, curated global gardens highlight sustainable growing techniques, exotic blooms, and seasonal flora from around the world.
That educational layer is easy to overlook and worth slowing down for. The sustainability displays in particular fit EPCOT’s original mission better than almost anything else the park currently offers.

Outdoor Kitchens Return
For anyone who comes to EPCOT festivals primarily to eat, the Outdoor Kitchens are back with a new menu of spring-inspired dishes and beverages.
The kitchens are scattered throughout the park and focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients, ranging from savory garden-fresh bites to sweet, fruit-forward desserts.
The distinction between Flower and Garden and Food and Wine food is real. Flower and Garden leans lighter, brighter, and more produce-driven, which suits the season and the weather. Food and Wine goes richer and heavier.

If you have ever found Food and Wine overwhelming, Flower and Garden is the festival for you.
Garden Rocks Concert Series
Live music returns to the America Gardens Theatre with the Garden Rocks Concert Series.
The series runs throughout the festival and features a mix of internationally recognized artists and beloved local bands.
Garden Rocks Dining Packages will also return, pairing a meal at select EPCOT restaurants with reserved seating for a performance.
Those packages are worth knowing about early. Garden Rocks seating fills quickly for bigger acts, and a dining package is the reliable way to guarantee a spot without staking out the theatre well ahead of showtime.

Activities for Families
Two returning offerings make this festival unusually strong for guests with kids.
Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration is back. The park-wide scavenger hunt invites guests to follow Spike the Bee along his pollination trail for a prize at the end.
The walkthrough butterfly house also returns, giving guests a close-up look at the butterfly lifecycle inside a lush, enclosed garden habitat.
The butterfly house is genuinely one of the more underrated experiences at any EPCOT festival. It is free to walk through, it is shaded, and for younger kids, it is frequently the memory that sticks from the entire trip.
Why the Timing Works in Your Favor
A few practical notes on the March 10 through May 31 window.
The early weeks, mid-March into early April, will be busiest because of spring break and Easter travel.
Late April and May tend to be the sweet spot. The topiaries are fully established, the plantings have filled in, crowds ease after Easter, and the weather has not yet turned punishing.
If you can only visit once and you want the version of EPCOT that looks best, aim for that stretch.

Start Planning Now
Announcing dates this far ahead is useful, and it means resort discounts for spring 2027 are already relevant.
Disney recently released room-only discounts covering January 3 through April 29, 2027, with savings of up to 25 percent, depending on the resort and date. That window overlaps a meaningful portion of the festival.
For anyone who has been meaning to see EPCOT during Flower and Garden, the pieces are lining up unusually early this year.
March 10 through May 31, 2027. Mark it.
