This Disney World Transportation System Is Officially Closed for Refurbishment

The Walt Disney World Resort has several complimentary transportation options available to take Guests between their Resorts, theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs.

Depending on the route they take, Guests are able to travel via monorail, boat, bus, and the Disney Skyliner, (or Minnie Vans powered by Lyft for an added fee), with each experience offering a magical perk only available during a Disney vacation.

Some modes of transportation are only available to certain destinations, including select Disney Resorts. As such, they can be major perks of staying at these locations. With one of Disney World’s most popular transportation methods now closed for a refurbishment, we have dates you may want to keep in mind for your next trip.

Guests staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, and Art of Animation Resort, will want to note that the Disney Skyliner is now closed through Sunday, January 29, 2023.

During the Skyliner’s refurbishment, complimentary bus transportation will be available for Guests at these Resorts looking to visit both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We should note that for Guests visiting EPCOT, bus transportation will bring you to the front of this Disney Park, not to International Gateway by World Showcase where the Disney Skyliner station is located.

Disney has not announced any changes to the Skyliner, so work taking place during this week’s closure should just be routine maintenance. All other forms of complimentary transportation at Walt Disney World remain available during this time as well.
