Six Ravens has been feeding people since August at Disney Springs.
Which makes today a slightly unusual kind of grand opening. The restaurant has been open, the kitchen has been running, and guests have been eating Coffyns for two months. Nobody is cutting a ribbon on an untested concept.
That is deliberate, and it is a smart way to do this. A long soft opening lets a kitchen figure out its throughput before anybody writes about the lines. And given that this restaurant comes from the team behind Gideon’s Bakehouse, a place that has drawn legendary waits at Disney Springs for years, knowing exactly how fast you can move an order out the window is worth two months of practice.
So the grand opening, Saturday, October 17, is a celebration rather than a debut. The food is already dialed in.
What is new is the merchandise, and for anyone who follows Gideon’s, that is the part that moves fast.
Six Ravens is giving away an exclusive opening-day shield pin, free with purchase while supplies last.
The Opening Day Pin
The celebration begins at 10 a.m., and the Six Ravens Shield Pin is limited to one per person.
The pin is shield-shaped with an antiqued gold-tone finish, featuring a crowned raven’s profile above six stars, set within a raised border over a textured design. It comes on a black backing card with a red-and-black diamond-patterned border and “Six Ravens” printed in white Gothic lettering.
Guests can also receive a Six Ravens Crown as part of the celebration, depicted in promotional artwork as a gold crown bearing the restaurant’s name and shield emblem.
Both are free with purchase while supplies last. Six Ravens did not specify a minimum purchase amount and did not announce how many pins are available.
Practical Advice on That Pin
A few things worth knowing before you drive over.
No minimum purchase was announced, and the cheapest item on the menu is a fountain beverage at $3.66. Whether that qualifies has not been confirmed, so do not build a plan around it.
More importantly, the pin has not been announced for online sale.
The Textured Sticker Sheet is a different story. Titled “The Intrepid Pilgrims,” it features the restaurant’s skeletal characters, including a full-length illustration of “The King” plus smaller character portraits, and it goes on sale at gideonsbakehouse.com on October 17 at 10 a.m. for anyone who cannot get to Disney Springs.
So the sticker sheet travels. The pin, as announced, does not.
Combine “free with purchase,” “one per person,” “while supplies last,” and a Gideon’s-affiliated fan base that treats limited drops as events, and the advice writes itself. Go early.
The Menu Prices Are a Joke Nobody Caught
Here is a detail that will delight anyone who appreciates how obsessively this team themes things.
Look at the prices.
- Coffyns: $10.96
- Tale Teller Tatties: $8.66
- The Tart’s Tempest: $7.66
- The Friars Fault root beer: $6.96
- Fountain beverages: $3.66
- Every beer: $9.66
Every single price ends in 96 or 66.
Six and nine. Six Ravens. The menu board itself is part of the theming, and the pattern holds across every item on it.
That is exactly the sort of thing Gideon’s built its reputation on, and it is a nice reminder that the lore here goes deeper than the wall decor.
What a Coffyn Actually Is
The signature item is a hand pie, and the name is real food history rather than a theme park invention.
A Coffyn is a yeast roll with sandwich ingredients fully encased inside it. Per Disney, “Coffyn” was the original term for hand pie, and the dish was popular in medieval Europe through the English Tudor period into the early 1600s.
The restaurant’s name has a similar grounding. Six Ravens is a nod to the Tower of London and the legend of the resident ravens who still guard the tower today.
Which makes that pin design a small piece of storytelling in itself. A crowned raven above six stars is the legend rendered as a crest.
The Local Collaboration Is the Real Story Here
This is the part that deserves more attention than the pin, and it is genuinely unusual for Walt Disney World.
Six Ravens did not just thank Central Florida restaurants in its announcement. The menu is built on them.
Look at the pairings that come with each Coffyn:
- The Peasant’s Patty, a cheeseburger version with American cheese and dill pickle bits, pairs with Pink Salamander Dipping Sauce
- The Villain of Valentina, basil pesto chicken with balsamic tomatoes, pairs with Bruno’s Garlic Knot Juice from Pizza Bruno
- The Wizard’s Wonder, mac and cheese with pickled poblano and BBQ pulled pork, pairs with Prince Donut’s Smoke and Cherry BBQ Sauce, from Smoke and Donuts
- The Imperial Idol, mildly spicy chicken with potato and carrot coconut curry, pairs with Red Panda’s Dipping Sauce, from Red Panda Noodle
- The Moreish Monk, a grilled cheese with Vermont white cheddar, Havarti and house tomato jam, pairs with Wolf Peach Sauce
- The Foragers Find, spiced roasted sweet potatoes with black bean corn salsa, crushed pepitas and queso cotija, pairs with Tropic of Mango Aioli Dip
Papi’s Burritos was also named among the collaborators.
Then check the beer list. Polite Light and Lone Palm Golden Ale from The Ravenous Pig. Florida Sunshine Mango from The Crooked Can. Sideward Cider and the 7% Moon Boots IPA from Sideward Brewing. All $9.66.
Every beer is Central Florida. Not one national brand.
Disney Springs has celebrity chef restaurants and national chains. A quick-service spot whose sauces are co-created with five independent Orlando restaurants and whose entire beer list comes from local breweries is a genuinely different model, and it puts small Central Florida businesses on a Disney Springs menu board by name.
What a Meal Costs
A Coffyn at $10.96, Tale Teller Tatties at $8.66, and a house tap root beer at $6.96 comes to $26.58 before tax.
For context on where that sits at Disney Springs, Blaze Pizza just raised its build-your-own pizza to $13.50. So a Coffyn is actually the cheaper entree of the two right now.
The Tatties are baked smashed potatoes seasoned with what the menu calls the King’s spices, served with the Realm Famous Honey Mustard. The Tart’s Tempest dessert is a Gideon’s chocolate chip cookie tart filled with chocolate fudge and topped with house raspberry jam.
Six Ravens is open today from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
What Is Coming Next
The restaurant has more planned beyond today.
Limited-edition flavors are on the way, including one for Halloween weekend. More tart flavors, additional merchandise, artwork, and stories expanding the Six Ravens lore are also planned.
And the one that will get the most attention: Six Ravens teased bottling its Realm Famous Honey Mustard, with other sauces potentially following. No release dates or details were provided.
If that honey mustard ends up on a shelf, expect it to behave exactly like every other limited Gideon’s item, which is to say, go early.
