Another closure is hitting the Walt Disney World Resort, and it’s coming soon.

Across the Walt Disney World Resort, closures are being made left and right. Not only are attractions shutting down–some permanently–but so too are locations at the many hotel resorts across the property.
A Longtime French Quarter Favorite
Scat Cat’s Club – Café and Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter are set to close for refurbishment starting October 6, 2026, according to WDWMagic, giving guests a heads-up to plan around one of the resort’s most popular quick-service and lounge combinations,
Scat Cat’s Club – Café has long served as the go-to quick-service spot at Port Orleans – French Quarter, known for its Mickey-shaped beignets dusted with powdered sugar and served with dipping sauces, alongside coffee, pastries, and other grab-and-go breakfast items. The adjoining lounge, Scat Cat’s Club, offers a bar setting themed to the resort’s New Orleans-inspired atmosphere, complete with specialty cocktails and light bites for guests looking to unwind after a day in the parks.

Port Orleans – French Quarter is one of two resorts that make up the broader Port Orleans complex, alongside Port Orleans – Riverside. The French Quarter side is prized for its compact layout, wrought-iron balconies, and Mardi Gras-inspired theming, making it a favorite among guests who want moderate-tier pricing without a long walk to dining and transportation.
Reopening Timeline
According to reports, the café is expected to reopen in December, while the lounge will take a bit longer, with a return targeted for January 2027. That gap means guests staying at the resort across the holiday season and into the New Year should expect some changes to their usual routine.
What’s Changing in the Meantime
While the refurbishment is underway, Disney is rolling out a few temporary solutions to help fill the gap. A temporary bar will operate near the café from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., giving guests access to drinks during the lounge’s closure. Beignets and coffee will move to Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, the resort’s other quick-service location. Guests craving the seasonal Ghoulish Delight beignets will still be able to find them there, but only through November 1.

What This Means for You
If you have a stay booked at Port Orleans – French Quarter between October 6, 2026, and the projected reopening dates, it’s worth building a small mental map of the resort before you arrive. Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory will effectively become your main stop for coffee and beignets during the closure, and the temporary evening bar can cover cocktail hour in place of the lounge. Neither is a permanent substitute, but they should keep the French Quarter experience largely intact while renovations move forward.
As always, reopening dates for Disney refurbishments can shift, so it’s worth checking closer to your travel dates for updates.
