Disney World guests who qualify for some extra benefits have a deadline approaching, and this is one they may not want to ignore.
A collection of limited-time perks recently arrived across Walt Disney World, giving eligible guests everything from free treats and private photo sessions to character encounters and dining discounts. Some of the offers can save members a surprising amount of money during a vacation.
But none of them are sticking around permanently.
Disney Vacation Club’s Welcome Home Weeks are underway for 2026, and the celebration is scheduled to end August 26. That means members have roughly one month to work these special benefits into their Disney World plans before they disappear.
For DVC members visiting between now and then, here are the 12 perks worth knowing about while they are still available.
Disney Vacation Club Members Get a Limited-Time Celebration
Disney Vacation Club already comes with its own collection of member benefits, but Welcome Home Weeks adds another layer for a limited period.
The 2026 event began in July and stretches across the theme parks, Disney Springs, and several Disney Resort hotels. Rather than putting everything in one location, Disney has scattered the benefits throughout the property.
Some require members to visit on particular days or during specific hours. Others are available more regularly.
Either way, August 26 serves as the cutoff. Once Welcome Home Weeks ends, these limited-time benefits are expected to leave with it.
And there is quite a bit available before that happens.
1. Complimentary Ice Cream Treats
One of the easiest perks to use is also particularly welcome during a hot Central Florida afternoon.
Eligible DVC members can pick up complimentary ice cream treats at locations throughout Disney World. The giveaways take place at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney Springs, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.
The exact days and hours depend on the location. For example, Magic Kingdom distributes treats at Tomorrowland Terrace on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, members can find them at Upper Bradley Falls on Thursdays and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Saratoga Springs and Riviera offer the perk daily through August 26, making those two locations potentially easier options for members staying nearby.
2. Complimentary Coffee and Morning Treats
Disney also has something for members who would rather start their day with coffee.
Select mornings feature complimentary coffee and a treat, along with an opportunity to spend some time with other DVC members.
At Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the gathering takes place inside Top of the World Lounge on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge hosts another version at Reunion Station on Saturdays and Sundays during the same hours.
3. Exclusive Disney Character Meet-and-Greets
Character encounters can eat up a decent portion of a park day, so having another opportunity to meet Disney characters could be particularly useful for members.
DVC is hosting exclusive character meet-and-greets at Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk. Members won’t necessarily know exactly who is waiting for them beforehand, as Disney describes it as a surprise character appearance.
The meet-and-greets run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on select dates, including August 4-5, August 12-13, August 17-18, and finally August 26.
4. Dining Discounts of Up to 40%
This could easily become one of the most valuable Welcome Home Weeks benefits for members planning several sit-down meals.
DVC members can receive discounts reaching 40% on food and nonalcoholic beverages at participating table-service restaurants on select dates.
The participating lineup includes Hollywood & Vine, Tusker House, Biergarten, Tiffins, Coral Reef Restaurant, Garden Grill, The Crystal Palace, Be Our Guest, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Trattoria al Forno.
Most of those discounts reach 40%, although The Crystal Palace and Be Our Guest offer 20% discounts for the applicable meals.
For a family or larger traveling party, that could translate into a meaningful difference in the final dining bill.
5. A Free Pretzel at The Polite Pig
The perks extend beyond the parks and Disney hotels.
On Mondays during Welcome Home Weeks, DVC members visiting The Polite Pig at Disney Springs can receive a complimentary Hop Salt Pretzel with the purchase of a specialty cocktail or mocktail.
Members also receive a 15% discount on eligible food and nonalcoholic beverages as part of the offer.
6. An Exclusive Slushie at City Works
Tuesday brings another Disney Springs offer.
DVC members who purchase an entrée at City Works can receive a complimentary Welcome Home Weeks-exclusive slushie.
It gives members another reason to time their Disney Springs dining plans around a particular day of the week.
7. A Free Everglazed Donut
Wednesday might have the simplest Disney Springs freebie of the bunch.
Members can visit Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew and receive one complimentary Welcome Home Weeks donut per member.
Better yet, Disney doesn’t require an additional purchase for this offer. The catch is availability, as the complimentary donuts are offered while supplies last.
8. Complimentary Ice Cream at eet
Thursday brings another completely free option.
Members can head to eet by Maneet Chauhan at Disney Springs and receive complimentary Desi ice cream.
Like the Everglazed offer, there is no purchase requirement attached to this perk.
9. A Complimentary Appetizer at Frontera Cocina
The weekday Disney Springs offers continue into Friday.
At Frontera Cocina, members can receive a complimentary Half & Half appetizer after purchasing the special DVC Welcome Home Weeks drink.
The qualifying beverage can be ordered either as a cocktail or a nonalcoholic mocktail.
10. Complimentary Welcome Home Weeks Buttons
Not every perk revolves around food.
Disney is also giving members complimentary buttons celebrating Welcome Home Weeks.
Members can find them at participating DVC lounges, Discovery Desks, and Welcome Home Centers around Disney World, including McKim’s Mile House at Magic Kingdom, ImaginAtrium at EPCOT, Château de Voyage at EPCOT, and Gateway to Discovery at Disney Springs.
It is a smaller benefit than a major restaurant discount, but the button gives members something physical to take home after the event ends.
11. Private Disney PhotoPass Sessions
Members looking for something more personalized can also book a complimentary private photo session.
Disney is offering 15-minute sessions with Disney PhotoPass photographers at select Disney Resort hotels. Advance registration is required.
Sessions are available at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa on Wednesdays, Disney’s Old Key West Resort on Thursdays, and Disney’s Riviera Resort on Mondays. The available times run from 3:40 p.m. through 7:55 p.m.
Considering how easy it can be to return from a Disney vacation with one family member missing from half the photos, a private session could be one of the more practical perks on the list.
12. Complimentary Candy During Movies Under the Stars
The final perk gives members something extra during an already-popular Disney Resort activity.
DVC members can receive complimentary candy during Movies Under the Stars at select Disney World resorts.
It isn’t the biggest benefit of Welcome Home Weeks, but paired with an outdoor Disney movie at a resort, it makes for an easy nighttime activity away from the parks.
August 26 Is the Deadline
The important thing for DVC members to remember is that these aren’t permanent additions to the normal benefits lineup.
Welcome Home Weeks is a limited-time event, and August 26 marks the end of the 2026 celebration. Some individual offerings only operate on certain weekdays, which means members may have even fewer opportunities to use them than the overall deadline suggests.
That makes a little advance planning worthwhile.
A 40% restaurant discount could affect where a family chooses to eat. A private PhotoPass session requires registration. Character appearances happen only on select dates. Even the complimentary ice cream giveaways follow location-specific schedules.
Members visiting Disney World before August 26 should check which benefits line up with their vacation dates rather than waiting until the final days.
After all, Disney has already put an expiration date on these extras. For eligible DVC members, the next month is the time to enjoy them while they can.
