Disney World Cuts Off Access to Christmas Celebration During Thanksgiving Weekend

The holiday season hasn’t even officially started at Walt Disney World Resort, but some visitors are already discovering that they’ve missed their chance to attend one of Disney’s most popular Christmas celebrations.

Disney has been preparing for weeks to welcome thousands of families to its holiday events, transforming its theme parks with Christmas decorations, seasonal entertainment, and exclusive experiences. However, not everyone hoping to participate will be able to secure a ticket.

With some special events costing nearly $200 per person, families are spending hundreds of dollars for a few hours of holiday entertainment. Despite those prices, demand appears to be strong enough that certain dates are already disappearing from Disney’s ticket calendar.

Now, another popular holiday date has officially sold out, leaving visitors with fewer opportunities to experience the celebration.

And with Thanksgiving approaching, families hoping to attend during one of the busiest travel periods of the year may need to reconsider their plans.

Disney World Confirms Another Jollywood Nights Sellout

Disney Jollywood Nights is returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the 2026 holiday season, bringing back its nighttime Christmas celebration for another year.

However, tickets are already becoming harder to secure for certain dates.

Disney Jollywood Nights has officially sold out for Saturday, November 28, 2026, the weekend immediately following Thanksgiving.

That date joins two other sold-out parties: November 7 and November 14.

The latest sellout means three Jollywood Nights events have already reached capacity before the first party of the season has even taken place.

For families planning to visit Walt Disney World during Thanksgiving week, the November 28 sellout could be particularly frustrating.

Thanksgiving is already a popular time for families to visit Orlando, especially when children are out of school and parents have additional time off work.

Some visitors may have hoped to spend the day enjoying Disney’s Hollywood Studios before returning for an evening filled with Christmas entertainment.

Unfortunately, anyone who hasn’t already purchased tickets for November 28 will need to consider another date.

While the regular theme park will continue welcoming visitors during its normal operating hours, Jollywood Nights requires a separate admission ticket.

That means purchasing a standard Disney’s Hollywood Studios ticket won’t provide access to the exclusive nighttime celebration.

Disney Jollywood Nights Tickets Cost Up to $199 Per Person

One of the biggest considerations for families interested in attending Disney Jollywood Nights is the price.

For the 2026 season, tickets range from $169 to $199 per person, depending on the selected date.

Those prices can quickly add up, particularly for larger families.

For example, a family of four purchasing tickets at the highest advertised price would spend $796 before accounting for any applicable discounts or additional expenses.

That’s a substantial amount of money for an event that officially lasts five hours.

Disney does offer a few opportunities to save.

Children between the ages of three and nine qualify for a $10 discount, while eligible Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can also save $10 per ticket.

However, those discounts don’t dramatically change the overall cost of attending.

Despite the expensive admission prices, three dates have already sold out.

Of course, the sellouts don’t necessarily mean every remaining party will reach capacity. Certain dates are naturally more attractive because of school schedules, weekends, and holiday travel.

Still, the November 28 sellout demonstrates that some families are willing to pay premium prices for Disney’s exclusive Christmas entertainment.

For anyone who has been waiting to purchase tickets, the latest development is a reminder that availability isn’t guaranteed.

Disney World Still Has Several Jollywood Nights Dates Available

Fortunately, visitors who missed out on the November 28 party still have several opportunities to attend Disney Jollywood Nights.

As of November 4, the following dates remain available:

  • November 2026: November 16, 21, and 23

  • December 2026: December 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, and 23

  • January 2027: January 3 and 5

One particularly interesting change for the 2026 season is that Disney Jollywood Nights will continue into January for the first time.

Previously, visitors had to experience the celebration before Christmas. This year’s expanded schedule gives families additional opportunities to enjoy the holiday entertainment after December 25.

That could be especially helpful for anyone visiting Walt Disney World around New Year’s Day.

Rather than squeezing the event into an already busy December schedule, visitors can attend one of the two January parties.

However, Disney hasn’t guaranteed that the remaining dates will stay available.

Ticket availability can change as more visitors finalize their holiday vacations.

Families who already know they want to attend may want to purchase admission before their preferred date sells out.

What Does Disney Jollywood Nights Include?

Disney Jollywood Nights offers a different atmosphere from a typical evening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Instead of focusing entirely on the park’s regular attractions, the separately ticketed celebration combines holiday entertainment, festive experiences, themed merchandise, and seasonal offerings.

The event officially runs from 7:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m.

However, ticket holders can enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios as early as 5:30 p.m., giving them two additional hours inside the theme park before the party begins.

That early entry opportunity can make a difference for families hoping to get more value out of their tickets.

Visitors can arrive before the official start time, explore the park, and prepare for the nighttime entertainment.

Disney is also introducing several additions for the 2026 celebration.

One new offering is a lounge in Animation Courtyard, giving partygoers another themed location to experience during the event.

Disney is also adding characters to the Glisten! skating show, bringing a new element to the holiday performance.

Guests attending this year’s celebration will receive a Chip ‘n’ Dale ornament, providing a keepsake from the event.

Exclusive merchandise will also be available, including a Gertie Loungefly purse.

Seasonal food and beverage offerings will provide additional ways to celebrate, although visitors should account for extra spending if they plan to purchase specialty items.

For many Disney fans, the appeal of Jollywood Nights comes from experiencing Disney’s Hollywood Studios in a completely different setting.

However, whether the event is worth the admission price will depend on what each family wants from its holiday vacation.

Disney World’s Holiday Season Is Already Facing Strong Demand

The latest Jollywood Nights sellout arrives as Walt Disney World prepares for another busy holiday season.

Between Thanksgiving travel, Christmas vacations, and special nighttime celebrations, November and December can bring substantial crowds to the Orlando resort.

Separately ticketed events give Disney another way to offer exclusive entertainment, but they also require visitors to make additional decisions about their vacation budgets.

Families who already purchased regular theme park admission may find themselves paying significantly more if they want to attend a Christmas party.

And with tickets approaching $200 per person on certain nights, that decision isn’t necessarily an easy one.

For visitors who have already secured admission to one of the sold-out Jollywood Nights events, the latest announcement doesn’t change their plans.

However, anyone still considering a Thanksgiving weekend visit will need to explore other dates.

November 28 is no longer available, and the November 7 and November 14 parties have also sold out.

The good news is that Disney has several additional celebrations scheduled through January 5, 2027.

Whether those remaining dates eventually sell out remains to be seen.

For now, one thing is clear: Disney’s expensive Christmas celebrations are already attracting enough interest to fill multiple parties before the holiday season officially begins.
