This bold reimagining of Test Track isn’t just about new visuals or updated effects—it’s a celebration of legacy. Drawing inspiration from the original World of Motion attraction, which once stood in this very spot, the refreshed experience blends EPCOT’s past with a thrilling future. The result: a sleek, high-speed journey filled with progress, innovation, and just the right touch of nostalgia.

Ahead of its official opening day, select guests were already familiar with the attraction thanks to Annual Passholder previews that ran on July 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, and 19. Passholders originally accessed the experience through the virtual queue in the My Disney Experience app, with daily entry times available at 7:00 a.m. (with a park reservation) and again at 1:00 p.m. (without one).

That virtual queue filled up in lightning speed—on July 13, all slots were gone within just three seconds, a testament to how excited fans were to return to EPCOT’s newly updated corner of innovation. But by July 18, access quietly shifted. Guests began reporting that cast members were admitting Passholders directly at the attraction entrance after verifying credentials, providing more flexibility during the preview period.

Then came July 20 and 21, when EPCOT quietly offered a soft opening of Test Track to all guests through the standby line. Those fortunate enough to visit during these two days got an early taste of the attraction’s redesigned layout and immersive storytelling.

Test Track Opening Day Sees Crowds Take Over EPCOT Park as Changes Made to Lightning Lane

The wait is over—and it was a long one. On July 22, 2025, the newly reimagined Test Track presented by General Motors officially opened at EPCOT to incredible guest demand. Just 15 minutes after park opening, the standby wait time surged to 150 minutes (as reported by WDWMAgic), with the line stretching through World Discovery and snaking towards Creations Shop, setting the tone for one of the most anticipated attraction openings of the year.

Now officially open, Test Track is also making waves operationally. As part of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass tier system—originally introduced on July 24, 2024—the ride has now taken a top-tier spot, replacing Soarin’ Around the World. This means guests can access Test Track via standby or select it as one of their three attractions when purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

The attraction’s placement in the Lightning Lane lineup marks its return to EPCOT’s featured offerings following its temporary closure on June 17, 2024.

And Test Track isn’t the only new experience lighting up Walt Disney World Resort. Just across the way at Magic Kingdom Park, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Parade officially debuted on July 20 following two nights of previews. The nighttime spectacle is now showing at 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. each evening, bringing even more magic to summer nights.
