With the first party nights arriving this week, Disney has published an official weather policy in the My Disney Experience app explaining exactly what guests should expect if rain, thunderstorms, or lightning move into the Magic Kingdom during the separately ticketed event.
While the policy won’t come as a surprise to longtime visitors, it serves as an important reminder that purchasing a ticket does not guarantee every entertainment offering will operate as scheduled.
Rain Won’t End the Party
The biggest takeaway is that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will continue through most weather conditions.
Disney says ordinary rain will not shut down the event, meaning guests can still enjoy many of the party’s exclusive experiences. However, thunderstorms and lightning create a different situation, particularly for outdoor entertainment and select attractions.
According to Disney’s published policy, guests should expect:
- Some attractions to temporarily close during inclement weather
- Outdoor entertainment to be affected by thunderstorms or lightning

Not everything comes to a halt when the weather turns.
Disney specifically points guests toward several indoor activities while storms pass through.
One of the biggest advantages is that trick-or-treat trails remain available even during inclement weather, allowing guests to continue collecting candy while waiting for attractions or entertainment to reopen.
The company also recommends spending time:
- Shopping inside the Emporium
- Visiting quick-service restaurants
- Checking the My Disney Experience app for attraction availability and wait times
- Speaking with Cast Members for updated operational information
Guests Should Plan Ahead
Disney is also encouraging guests to remain flexible throughout the evening.
Because Florida weather can change quickly, the company recommends using the My Disney Experience app to monitor attraction availability during storms. Entertainment schedules may shift with little warning, making it important to keep an eye on notifications and posted operating information.
The guidance follows several previous Halloween Party seasons where late-evening storms disrupted entertainment, particularly during August and September when Central Florida regularly experiences thunderstorms.
For guests whose highest priorities are the parade or fireworks, checking the weather forecast before arriving could make a significant difference. Disney notes that while many afternoon storms clear before nighttime festivities begin, later-arriving systems can still impact the event, making earlier entertainment a smart priority if poor weather is expected.
With Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returning for another season, Disney’s updated weather guidance reinforces one important message: the party goes on in the rain, but lightning can quickly change the night’s entertainment schedule. Guests prepared to stay flexible will have the best chance of making the most of one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular seasonal events.
Halloween Party Tickets Are Selling Out Quickly
If you’re still deciding which party night to attend, you may not want to wait much longer.
Demand for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party remains strong, and several event nights have already reached capacity. As of now, eight parties are officially sold out:
- August 7, 11, 14, and 18
- September 4
- October 9 and 13
- October 31 (Halloween night)
That still leaves plenty of opportunities to attend, but the remaining dates are likely to become more limited as Halloween season gets closer.
The full 2026 party schedule includes:
- August: 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30
- September: 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, 29
- October: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31
In August, the event takes place on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. September follows the same pattern with one additional Thursday party on September 24. By October, the schedule expands significantly, with parties held every Thursday, most Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays, along with Halloween night on Saturday, October 31.
Guests visiting this year will also find a mix of new and returning entertainment. Stitch is debuting a new interactive dance party at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, where he, Lilo, and Angel will keep the music and costumes changing throughout the evening. Meanwhile, the fan-favorite Cadaver Dans will once again return to serenade guests with their signature eerie harmonies.
With more dates expected to sell out as fall approaches, anyone hoping to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party may want to secure tickets sooner rather than later.
