Disney World Closures Set To Disrupt Thousands of Summer Vacations, Guests Alerted

Visitors planning a trip to Disney World in July 2024 should be aware of several significant ride closures and reopenings that could affect their experience. As guests finalize their hotel accommodations, travel arrangements, and dining reservations, it is crucial to consider these updates to ensure a smooth visit to the parks. Test Track at EPCOT will close for a reimagining starting June 17, 2024.

While some concept art has been released, specific details about the ride’s transformation remain largely unknown, as does the timeframe for completion. Guests should anticipate Test Track being unavailable throughout July. Country Bear Jamboree in Magic Kingdom, which has been closed since January, is undergoing a significant makeover and is expected to reopen this summer.

Although no concrete reopening date has been provided, there is a possibility that the attraction may return in July. The revamped show will feature new songs, including familiar Disney tunes in various styles inspired by Nashville Opry performances and updated character designs. Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is set to return this fall after a four-year hiatus.

The updated show, “The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure,” will include a mix of live actors and puppets. Although an exact reopening date has not been announced, the attraction will likely remain closed through July. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is slated to reopen on July 27, 2024, following a lengthy refurbishment that began in January.

This extensive update aims to provide much-needed enhancements to the ride. According to the Disney World website, the attraction will be operational from July 27 onward. Additionally, Disney World has been rotating the operation of its water parks, with one remaining open while the other undergoes maintenance. Currently, Typhoon Lagoon is open, meaning Blizzard Beach is closed. Blizzard Beach reopened last November; a similar timeline is expected this year.

The upcoming ride closures at Disney World in July 2024 are expected to disrupt the plans of thousands of guests looking to vacation at the resort. These closures include popular attractions across several parks, potentially impacting visitors’ overall experience. This could increase wait times and crowding at other popular rides as visitors adjust their itineraries.

These closures will likely frustrate guests who had planned their vacations around these attractions. With critical rides and shows unavailable, visitors may adjust their plans and experience longer wait times at alternative attractions. This disruption underscores the importance of staying informed about park updates and planning visits to maximize the Disney World experience.

With advance notice of the ride closures at Disney World in July 2024, guests can better plan their summer vacations by making informed decisions and adjusting their itineraries. Knowing which rides will be closed allows guests to reconfigure their park schedules. They can focus on open attractions and plan their days to visit other popular rides and shows that will remain operational.

Beyond the main attractions, Disney World offers many entertainment options, such as live shows, character meet-and-greets, and interactive experiences. By keeping an eye on official announcements and updates from Disney, guests can be aware of any changes in the reopening schedules or new attractions that might open during their visit. By incorporating these strategies, guests can navigate the closures and still have a fulfilling and enjoyable vacation at Disney World.

About Emmanuel Detres

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
