On Wednesday, Walt Disney World Resort dropped several tidbits of new information about multiple upcoming attractions, including the Piston Peak National Park area in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park and the “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” show in the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Alongside those details, Walt Disney World also shared some updates about the Muppets Mayhem retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

In November, Walt Disney Imagineering announced that Muppet*Vision 3D (and the surrounding Muppets Courtyard area) would close to make way for a Monsters, Inc. (2001) inspired land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Knowing that this reveal would devastate fans, Disney simultaneously revealed plans to replace the Aerosmith theme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with the Muppets, keeping the beloved Jim Henson characters in the park.

Muppet*Vision 3D closed its doors on June 7, 2025. Keeping with tradition, Disney immediately announced that the Muppets retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith would open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios sometime in 2026, with the current attraction theme remaining through at least the end of 2025.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t shared exact an exact closing date for the Aerosmith coaster or a grand reopening date for its Muppets replacement. However, on June 18, Disney shared a few details about what guests can expect on the rethemed roller coaster.

I would like to see The Muppets In the Walt Disney World Resort because I love the Muppets because of Jim Henson and I love them all. And I can’t wait to see the retheme of the Rock n’ roller coaster with The Muppets and Maybe the theater next door and some shops belonging to the muppets because I’m a biggest fan of the Muppets! I hope they will stay in Walt Disney World Resort for a very long long time!
