Disney World Rewrites the Clock: Major November Operating Hours Extensions Revealed
Holiday crowds are converging on Central Florida, and Walt Disney World is responding by completely overhauling its theme park schedules. In a series of consecutive calendar updates, Disney operations planners have rolled out broad operating-hour extensions across Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, spanning multiple weeks through mid-November 2026.

The adjustments provide earlier rope-drop windows and extended late-night touring blocks to absorb surging attendance driven by northeastern school recesses (“Jersey Week”), Veterans Day weekend, and early Thanksgiving arrivals.
The Holiday Pressure Cooker Behind the Changes
November brings unique logistical friction to Walt Disney World. On select evenings, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party requires Magic Kingdom to clear out regular day visitors promptly at 6:00 p.m. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Jollywood Nights commands the park for ticketed attendees on select nights starting at 7:00 p.m.

These early closures funnel daytime guests into condensed touring windows or push them toward neighboring parks, creating massive afternoon spikes. To prevent severe bottlenecks, Disney expands daily operating hours to distribute capacity across a wider morning and evening window.
Week Two Schedule Extensions: November 8–14, 2026
The second full week of November features substantial changes centered around holiday party dates and Veterans Day weekend:

- Magic Kingdom:
- On party dates—Sunday, November 8; Monday, November 9; and Friday, November 13—the park opens an hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. (previously 9:00 a.m.) and operates until 6:00 p.m. Early Theme Park Entry for on-property resort hotel guests shifts forward to 7:30 a.m.
- On non-party dates—Tuesday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 11 (Veterans Day)—closing time is pushed back one hour to 11:00 p.m. (operating 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., previously closing at 10:00 p.m.).
- On Saturday, November 14, the park adds two hours, running from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), with Early Entry starting at 7:30 a.m.
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
- On Sunday, November 8; Monday, November 9; and Friday, November 13, the park gains an extra evening hour, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (previously closing at 6:00 p.m.), with Early Entry opening at 7:30 a.m.
- On Saturday, November 14, evening hours expand by two hours, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (up from a 6:00 p.m. close).
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
- On Saturday, November 14, the park opens 30 minutes earlier, running from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) ahead of an evening Jollywood Nights event, with Early Entry shifting to 8:00 a.m.
Mid-November Updates: The Week of November 15–21, 2026
The operational additions continue through the third week of the month as vacationers arrive ahead of Thanksgiving:

- Magic Kingdom (Sunday, November 15): Opens an hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. and runs until 6:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). Early Theme Park Entry starts at 7:30 a.m.
- Magic Kingdom (Monday, November 16 & Saturday, November 21): Closes an hour later at 11:00 p.m. (operating 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., up from 10:00 p.m.).
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Sunday, November 15): Evening operations expand by two hours, running from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Saturday, November 21): Closes an hour later, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (previously 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), with Early Entry starting at 7:30 a.m.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Saturday, November 21): Opens 30 minutes earlier, running from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) ahead of Jollywood Nights, with Early Entry opening at 8:00 a.m.
- EPCOT: Operating hours remain steady at 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily throughout this stretch.
Touring Strategy for the New Hours
Taking full advantage of these schedule updates requires strategic planning:

- Target 7:30 a.m. Early Entry: For resort guests, arriving before 7:30 a.m. at Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom offers the lowest standby wait times of the day, letting you clear marquee headliners before off-property crowds enter at 8:00 a.m.
- Utilize Park Hopper on Party Days: Daytime standby queues at Magic Kingdom are lighter on 6:00 p.m. party closure days. Touring Magic Kingdom in the morning and hopping to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios for the evening maximizes ride throughput.
- Take an Afternoon Break: A 15-hour day at Magic Kingdom can drain any party. Midday breaks between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. keep everyone energized for late-night touring.
