It’s not every day that the Magic Kingdom bows to the villains—but guests visiting the park on November 8, 2025, witnessed just that. While the beloved Festival of Fantasy Parade took a brief hiatus, Disney fans were treated to a surprising twist as some of the most infamous Disney Villains took center stage, parading down Main Street, U.S.A. in a spectacle that few saw coming.

The takeover coincided with the start of Disney’s annual holiday festivities and the filming of The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration for ABC.

Adding to the festive spirit, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade made a rare daytime appearance on November 8 due to the filming. This confirmed performance replaced Festival of Fantasy for the day, offering guests a chance to see Elsa, toy soldiers, gingerbread men, and Santa Claus himself.

A Rare Villainous Spectacle

According to reports from Kenny the Pirate, Disney rolled out a unique daytime event featuring the resort’s most popular antagonists at Magic Kingdom Park.

Guests caught sight of characters like the Queen of Hearts, Cruella De Vil, and Gaston leading a special cavalcade through the park. They were joined by the Evil Stepmother and Stepsisters from Cinderella (1950), Ursula from The Little Mermaid (1989), and Captain Hook, accompanied by Mr. Smee, from Peter Pan (1953). The grand finale featured an impressive trio—Maleficent, Mother Gothel, and the Evil Queen, accompanied by her ominous Magic Mirror.

The unexpected villain takeover had fans buzzing with speculation, with many wondering if this could be a tease for something bigger—perhaps even the upcoming Villains Land expansion that Disney World is building as part of its Beyond Big Thunder Mountain development.

Holiday Magic in Full Swing

While the villains had their fun during the day, the real magic of the season was still very much alive. On the same weekend, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party officially returned to Magic Kingdom, running select nights from November 7 through December 21. The party includes a new Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse meet and greet, as well as the Sandy Claws update to Jack Skellington.

The after-hours celebration transforms the park into a winter wonderland filled with cookies, cocoa, and snow flurries along Main Street, U.S.A. Guests can experience Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, and holiday overlays on popular attractions, including the Jingle Cruise and Space Mountain–Holiday Run.

About Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
