More closure warnings have been issued for Disney World’s resorts this year.
Disney has issued advance notifications to guests staying at two popular Walt Disney World resorts, signaling temporary changes that could affect upcoming vacations at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Old Key West Resort, per reports. While none of the updates fundamentally disrupt a Disney stay, they are important considerations for guests who prioritize resort amenities as part of their overall vacation experience.
At Disney’s Beach Club Resort, guests are being informed of a planned closure affecting one of the resort’s leisure pools. While Stormalong Bay—the expansive, sand-bottomed pool complex shared with Yacht Club—is open, the smaller Tidal Pool is scheduled to close beginning in mid-January 2026 and remain unavailable through early May.
Disney notes that guests will still have access to Stormalong Bay and other pool offerings during this time, but those accustomed to using multiple pool areas may notice the change. Adding another layer to planning, scheduled Disney Skyliner maintenance during this period could also impact transportation options for guests traveling to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Over at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney has notified guests that several amenities located in the Turtle Pond area will be temporarily closed through early February 2026. This includes the Turtle Pond Pool, spa, playground, and BBQ picnic area. While the closures affect a specific section of the resort, Disney is directing guests to alternative amenities, including the Sandcastle Pool, South Point Pool, and Miller’s Road Pool, all of which will remain open and available throughout the maintenance window.
These notifications reflect Disney’s ongoing approach to transparency when it comes to refurbishment schedules and operational adjustments. For many guests, the updates may simply require minor itinerary tweaks, while others may use the information to better align expectations ahead of arrival.
Even with temporary closures in place, both resorts continue to offer a wide range of experiences, ensuring that guests can still enjoy the signature comfort and atmosphere that define a Walt Disney World resort stay.
