The newest addition to the Disney family is trotting along just fine! On July 11, a Shetland Pony was born at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The beautiful baby girl was born healthy and already bonding with her mom nearly right away. Since her birth, Disney has given an update on the newest member.
At Disney World, Shetland horses are honored to lead Cinderella’s carriage. The horses move the carriage for parades and special events like Disney weddings. With Disney’s newest update, Dr. Mark Penning, the Vice President of Disney’s Animal’s Science and Environment, weighed in on the new pony.

Meet Pixie the Shetland Pony
She finally has a name, and it’s Pixie! Cinderella’s newest (little) friend has been staying close by to her mom Lady, as she explores her new home. Pixie, as in Pixie Dust, possibly, even got her own nameplate similar to those of Cast Members and Imagineers. “Perhaps in reference to her small size and delicate nature — or perhaps related to her spunkiness, if the name is meant to be a shoutout to the feisty Pixie Hollow fairy named Tinker Bell,” Disney Fanatic speculated.

As shown in the recent social media posts by Disney Parks as well as the tweets above, Pixie is getting well acclimated to her home. Disney Parks commented on TikTok, “She galloped into our hearts.” Pixie’s new home is also the home to nearly 100 horses at the Tri-Circle-D-Ranch. Pixie and Guests can look forward to “pulling Cinderella’s carriage, to carrying the Headless Horseman as he leads Mickey’s “Boo to You” parade,” Inside the Magic writes.
