A family snuck a large, sharp knife into Disneyland Paris Resort and pulled it out in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Redditor u/erikthered65 recently recalled the incident as the “most entitled” Disney Park guest behavior they’d ever witnessed.
The social media user witnessed an “extended family” spreading “a big blanket and picnic and big cake” on a walkway in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park (Paris). They described it as “one of those family birthdays where there aren’t other kids…just this toddler and about 15 adults.
Disney cast members called security to clear the guests from the walkway they were blocking.
“Cast members and security already trying to get them moved when we saw it,” the Disneyland Paris Resort guest wrote.
Still, the party wasn’t the most surprising part. The group brought what the guest described as a “big ass knife” to cut the toddler’s birthday cake. The weapon making it into Disneyland Paris Resort brought scrutiny to the European Disney Park’s safety and security policies.
“Not sure how the scanners missed that,” the guest concluded.
It’s unclear what consequences the guests faced for bringing a knife into Disneyland Park.
A similar incident occurred in 2023. Social media clips showed guests cutting a cake in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park (Paris). Security later apprehended the family and forced them to pack up their picnic.
Disneyland Paris Resort prohibits guests from bringing the following items into Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park (soon to be renamed Disney Adventure World), and Disney Village:
-
All illicit or hazardous substances, alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, dangerous objects (particularly any offensive or defensive weapons of any type) or objects that appear to be weapons or toy guns (also including toy blasters, squirt guns, etc.), that could endanger visitor security in the Parks, are prohibited.
-
Any items that may disturb other visitors (vuvuzelas, loud speakers, horns).
-
Handheld camera/cell phone extension poles, such as selfie sticks.
-
Any recreational devices such as drones and remote control toys.
-
Any items that we may deem harmful, disruptive or inappropriate.
Guests must go through security screening upon entering Disneyland Paris Resort. Even if they’re not caught at the security checkpoint, any Disney Park guests found with prohibited items will be asked to dispose of them before continuing on with their day.
