Disney fans heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer may want to double-check their dining budgets before sitting down at one of the park’s most popular restaurants. Yak & Yeti Restaurant has quietly rolled out sweeping price increases across almost its entire menu, impacting around 40 different food items.

For many longtime Disney guests, Yak & Yeti has become one of those reliable table-service locations inside Animal Kingdom. It offers larger portions than many in-park restaurants, a menu that stands out from standard theme park burgers and fries, and several fan-favorite dishes that people intentionally plan into their park day. That is exactly why these latest price jumps are getting attention online.

The increases themselves are not massive on an item-by-item basis. Most dishes went up somewhere between 3% and 5%. But when nearly every appetizer, entrée, side, and specialty item climbs at the same time, guests start noticing very quickly.

And honestly, it comes at a time when many Disney visitors are already feeling stretched thin financially.

A Restaurant Guests Actually Look Forward To

Yak & Yeti is not just another random quick-service location hidden in the park. The restaurant has built a loyal following over the years because of its menu variety and portion sizes. Some guests even rank it among the best table-service spots anywhere at Walt Disney World.

A lot of that reputation comes from comfort favorites that feel different from typical theme park dining. The Pork Egg Rolls have become a go-to appetizer for plenty of regular visitors, while dishes like Honey Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken are often recommended to first-time guests looking for something safe but still flavorful.

The Korean Fried Chicken also has a strong fanbase, and the restaurant’s larger entrée bowls tend to feel more filling than what guests find elsewhere inside the parks.

That is why these increases may hit differently compared to another Disney restaurant quietly raising prices by a dollar or two.

People actually return to Yak & Yeti specifically for these meals.

The Increases Add Up Quickly

Individually, some of the changes may not seem dramatic at first glance.

The Pork Egg Rolls increased from $12.99 to $13.29. Honey Chicken moved from $22.99 to $23.59. Sweet & Sour Chicken now costs $23.59 instead of $22.99.

But Disney dining pricing rarely works in isolation.

Once a family orders appetizers, drinks, entrées, and dessert, even smaller menu hikes can suddenly push a meal noticeably higher than expected. For a family of four already paying for park tickets, Lightning Lane selections, hotels, and souvenirs, another $10 to $20 added to dinner can absolutely make people rethink whether table-service dining is worth it.

That is especially true inside Animal Kingdom, where many guests already feel dining options are more limited compared to parks like EPCOT or Magic Kingdom.

Yak & Yeti has traditionally been viewed as one of the “safe bets” for guests wanting a dependable sit-down meal during a long park day. Higher prices may not stop people from eating there entirely, but they could absolutely impact how often families return.

Some Favorites Escaped the Price Hikes

Interestingly, not every menu category was affected.

Desserts and kids’ meals appear to have avoided the latest round of increases. That is at least some small relief for families already trying to manage Disney vacation costs.

Still, nearly everything else saw adjustments.

Appetizers, salads, noodle dishes, rice bowls, burgers, and signature entrées all climbed higher this week. Even side dishes like garlic noodles, fried rice, and steamed rice increased in price.

Disney guests have become increasingly sensitive to food pricing over the last several years as overall vacation costs continue rising across Walt Disney World. Dining has become one of the easiest areas for families to cut back if budgets get too tight.

That could mean more guests choosing quick-service meals instead of table-service reservations.

Disney Dining Continues Getting More Expensive

This is also part of a much larger trend happening across Walt Disney World.

Over the past several years, Disney has steadily increased prices on food, Lightning Lane services, hotels, special events, and merchandise. While annual increases are nothing new, many guests feel the frequency of changes has become more noticeable recently.

Restaurants across property have seen menu adjustments multiple times within relatively short windows. Sometimes the increases are only cents. Other times, entire menus jump higher all at once, similar to what just happened at Yak & Yeti.

The tricky part for Disney is perception.

Fans may tolerate higher pricing if they feel the experience still delivers strong value. Yak & Yeti has mostly maintained that reputation because portions remain fairly large compared to many other Disney restaurants.

But there is definitely a threshold where guests begin asking whether a meal inside the parks is still worth the premium.

One Major Menu Change Beyond Pricing

Along with the price increases, Yak & Yeti also adjusted its menu offerings slightly.

Beef Chow Fun has now been added to the restaurant’s lineup, while Chef’s Fresh Catch has been removed.

Menu rotations are pretty common at Disney restaurants, especially when kitchens look for ways to streamline operations or introduce new options. Still, for returning guests who had specific favorites, changes like this can sometimes be just as disappointing as the price hikes themselves.

And when both happen together, it naturally creates stronger reactions online.

Will Guests Keep Paying?

That is really the biggest question moving forward.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom continues drawing strong crowds thanks to attractions like Avatar Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, and the ongoing excitement surrounding the park’s future Tropical Americas expansion. Many guests still view Yak & Yeti as part of the full Animal Kingdom experience.

But with food prices climbing across Walt Disney World, more visitors are starting to budget their vacations differently.

Some families now split meals more often. Others skip table-service dining entirely unless they are doing a character meal or signature experience. Some guests even leave the parks temporarily to eat at nearby resorts or Disney Springs.

Yak & Yeti will probably remain popular because the food itself still has a strong reputation. The Honey Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Pork Egg Rolls, and Korean Fried Chicken continue getting recommended constantly by Disney fans online.

Still, when nearly 100% of a menu suddenly becomes more expensive at once, people notice. And for some guests, it may be enough to make them pause before clicking that dining reservation button next time they visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
