Disney’s San Fransokyo Square Gets an Opening Date

Disneyland has released some exciting news! Guests can look forward to a new neighborhood in Disney California Adventure Park starting next month. The San Fransokyo Square has been under construction with continuous updates from Imagineers.

Recently, we saw a steel beam in place with the signatures of all Imagineers working on the project. We are finally getting the news we have all been waiting for. An opening day! Beginning August 31, 2023, San Fransokyo Square will officially be open.

What can Guests expect in this new vibrant neighborhood? So many exciting new parts of Disney California Adventure Park now. As told by Inside the Magic, “Guests will be transported to the not-so-distant future, where San Francisco and Tokyo have combined to create a new and vibrant multicultural district for everyone to enjoy.”

Guests can meet Baymax and Hiro in the square, as shown below.

The diverse dining area has new menu items and dining options for all taste palettes. From Lucky Fortune Cookery to Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, the inspiration from California and Asian cuisine is fused together. San Fransokyo Square also offers various beverage options, from the Cappucino Cart to energize you throughout your Disney trip and Rita’s Turbine Blender when you’re craving an adult beverage.

Guests can also enjoy local shopping finding one-of-a-kind merchandise like collectibles. Lastly, an “enticing” new experience is The Bakery Tour. Take a trip here to “Go behind the scenes of a real-life bakery and see how sourdough bread is made,” as Disney explains.
