New Details for Disney’s San Fransokyo Square

Disneyland is getting more changes! The local cannery district is well on its way with updates and improvements. The diverse neighborhood is filled with eateries and businesses, receiving a transformation. This is, of course, Disneyland’s California Adventure Park San Fransokyo Square.

While reimagining is moving right along, it’s exciting to see the updates come to life at the Park. Guests are excited to see the finished product, but there is something extra special about being able to experience the construction each step of the way. Previously, Disney reported new menu offerings for restaurants in the square. Starting in mid-July, some tastings will become available, which is an offer to look forward to.

Now, Guests can see another addition to the area, showing that the plaza is still on track soon.

The horizontal beam shown in the images above is a part of the bridge that is being installed. As detailed, the steel beam has writing on it, which is signatures from the Cast Members working on the project. This is special for Guests to view but extra special for the Cast Members.

Similarly, Disney has many “hidden” secrets to their attractions. Like this beam, Disneyland’s Matterhorn Basketball Court lives inside the Matterhorn Bobsleds. In this area that certainly has a basketball hoop, many Cast Members who worked on the ride signed their names and are still living there to this day. As a worker at Disney, your efforts in creating something new and magical for Guests are already a huge accomplishment. But being able to sign your name, to live there forever is an additionally earned badge for many Cast Members.

Welcome to the home of Big Hero 6, with a diverse local fair sitting on the seaside plaza. Disney’s San Fransokyo Square hosts eateries and businesses alike, with the potential of epic encounters with some of your favorite characters. Guests can look forward to the area to shop, dine and indulge in epic experiences. If you are looking for a snack, a meal, a collectible, or a photo op, San Fransokyo Square will be your new favorite spot in Disneyland.
