One of Nickelodeon’s hit shows in the late 1990s and early 2000s was The Amanda Show, starring Amanda Bynes. The show featured two characters that were so popular, that a new show was created just for them.
That show was Drake & Josh, starring Drake Bell and Josh Peck. Drake & Josh revolved around the teen stepbrothers who struggled to learn how to live together despite their decidedly different personalities.
During this time, Nickelodeon’s child stars seemed to have it all, but that could not have been further from the truth. A new Investigation Discovery docuseries — Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV — will dive deep into the disturbing rein of terror that encompassed the network during the time Dan Schneider worked there.
Schneider was the creative mind behind many of Nickelodeon’s hit shows, including Victorious, Good Burger, Kenan & Kel, All That, iCarly, Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, and Sam & Cat.
He made Nickelodeon A LOT of money, which may be why executives ignored multiple complaints against him. Schneider was accused by many actors and their parents of being sexist, racist, and misogynistic.
Schneider parted ways with Nickelodeon in 2018 after an investigation into his behavior was launched. A number of Schneider’s coworkers accused him of abuse and creating a toxic work environment.
Sadly, Dan Schneider was not the only person at Nickelodeon who traumatized some of the young actors and actresses who worked for him. And some are still dealing with the repercussions today.
In 2003, Brian Peck — a dialogue coach on several Nickelodeon shows — was arrested on more than a dozen charges of the sexual abuse of an unnamed minor. Peck pled no contest to performing a lewd act with a 14- or 15-year-old and to oral copulation with a minor under 16 and was sentenced to 16 months in prison.

His victims remained anonymous, and those who worked with Peck could do nothing by wonder. But now one of them is coming forward. And it is none other than Nickelodeon star, Drake Bell.

It is important to note that Brian Peck has no relation to Bell’s costar, Josh Peck.
This is not the first time that Peck has been in the news in recent weeks. In late February, Boy Meets World stars Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle admitted they defended Peck when he was accused. They said that Peck had painted himself as a victim, and they could not imagine someone they were close to doing something so awful.
On their podcast, Pod Meets World, they admitted that Brian Peck had groomed them and manipulated them into thinking that he was a good person.
Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV will air on March 17 and 18. It is a four-part docuseries that will run from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on both nights.
