Disney always works hard to bring new and exciting experiences to the Parks. Imagineers are the magic makers behind it all, creating some of our favorite attractions. Classic rides like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean are two examples that are filled with a great memory of Imagineer’s dedication to Disney.
To celebrate all of the efforts of the last 100 years, The Walt Disney Company has its anniversary in big ways. With limited-time experiences, bites, and merchandise, all Disney Parks have had their own way of celebrating. Now, just in time for the anniversary, Hong Kong Disneyland is getting a special creation all its own.

“Dream Makers” Statue
As Disney honors 100 years of The Walt Disney Company, many special events and historic honors have taken part in the celebration. The “Dream Makers” Statue, soon to be on display in Hong Kong Disneyland, is a part of that homage to the man who started it all. The new bronze statue will be of Walt Disney and his best pal, Mickey Mouse. Disney plans to install the statue in October 2023.

Much like the “Partners” Statue in Disneyland, it’s a special piece of artwork to have in the Parks. The original statue “Partners” was first installed in Disneyland in 1983. “Eventually reproduced in Magic Kingdom (1995), Tokyo Disneyland (1998), Walt Disney Studios (2001), and Walt Disney Studios Park, Paris (2002),” as Inside the Magic reported, the statues have become an iconic part of every Disney Park.
Additionally, the first statue was created by Disney Legend and Imagineer Blaine Gibson. A fun fact was when creating the statue, “One early sketch of the Partners Statue featured Mickey holding an ice cream cone in one hand,” Disney wrote.
The statue pays homage to the creator of The Walt Disney Company and the iconic Mickey Mouse character. Furthermore, to this time spent with his daughters at the merry-go-round where it’s reported, he got the idea for Disneyland. “Dream Makers” will sit in front of the Cinderella Carousel for all Guests to view.
