Things Get out of Hand at Magic Kingdom!

Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is a beloved attraction at the Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort. This classic and nostalgic experience takes Guests on a journey through time, showcasing the progress of technology and innovation in American society.

The Carousel of Progress was initially created for the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair and was a collaboration between Walt Disney and the General Electric Company. It later found its permanent home in the Magic Kingdom park.

Inside the Carousel of Progress, Guests are seated in a circular theater that rotates around a central stage. The theater is divided into six scenes, each representing a different time period, starting from the turn of the 20th century and progressing to the near future.

The show begins with the theme song “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” written by the Sherman Brothers. The catchy tune sets the tone for the optimistic and forward-thinking message of the attraction. As the scenes change, Guests witness the evolution of technology and its impact on everyday life, from the introduction of electricity to the invention of household appliances and the rise of virtual reality.

One of the highlights of the Carousel of Progress is the audio-animatronic characters that bring the scenes to life. These family members guide the story in a way that is captivating and incredibly charming to witness.

However, in recent days, fans were shocked and horrified when a video circulated on social media showing what appeared to be a decapitated hand on the ride. This unexpected and gruesome image sent shockwaves throughout the Disney community.

Video Shows Confusing Disturbance

Unfortunately, it looks like there was an issue with a recent showing at the Carousel of Progress. A TikTok was posted showing the Christmas scene of the ride, where two of the characters sit and play with their new presents. Unfortunately, it looks like the Grandpa in the scene lost an essential part of himself that day: his hand!

The video, which is captioned “Grandpa really wanted to lend a hand at Christmas,” shows the characters gaping whole where his hand once was. According to the post, the ride was allegedly evacuated due to the incident.

Hopefully, everything with this character was able to be repaired right away. I can imagine this being traumatizing for children!
