A video was posted on TikTok yesterday, featuring performers from the Black Panther (2018) show at Disney California Adventure Park. The entertaining event goes by the name Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje.
In the performance, three beautiful, strong, and inspiring women dressed in their Wakandan garb twist and twirl their Wakandan Spears, delighting Guests of all ages. The Dora Milaje consists of a group of all-female warriors who serve as Black Panther’s personal bodyguards in the film.
Located in Avengers Campus, Disney describes the event, “Courageous recruits are invited to train alongside General Okoye to become a warrior ally of Wakanda.” Wow, we’re in; where do we sign up?!
In the video, posted by @francisdominiic, Guests at Disney California Adventure Park praise Disney for showing inclusivity, with a plus size performer in their entertainment lineup. Text on the video explains, “I AM SO HAPPY!!!! This is the first time I’ve ever seen a Plus Size Warrior in the Dora Milaje!”

Black Panther has been a topic of discussion in the Disney community as of late. It was announced this year at San Diego’s popular Comic-Con event that a sequel would be coming soon.
Entitled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), the movie is expected to release this November. The subject matter has been an emotional topic amongst actors and fans as they continue to mourn the loss of Chadwick Boseman, the original Black Panther.
The actor sadly passed away in 2020, at just 43 years old. His passing came as a complete surprise to many, as he kept his battle with colon cancer a secret from many people in his life.
If you want to catch a glimpse of this powerful trio, the Warriors of Wakanda perform at several different showtimes throughout the day. Check the My Disney Experience App before you go, so you’ll be sure not to miss it!
