One part of a Disney park is getting its own closing time.
Disney parks generally keep every themed land open until the park closes for the night. While attractions occasionally shut early for maintenance or entertainment, entire lands rarely become inaccessible before closing time.
Summer usually means longer operating hours across Disney resorts. Disneyland often remains open until midnight, while Magic Kingdom typically offers some of the latest park hours at Walt Disney World.
That’s why a new operational change announced this week stands out.
Fantasyland Will Close Early This Summer
From July 1 through September 14, Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland will close 30 minutes before the rest of the park.
The early closure is tied to Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams, a temporary version of the park’s nighttime spectacular that adds drones to the existing projection show. The performance is also the final run of Reach for the Stars, which ends permanently in September.
Fantasyland sits directly behind Cinderella Castle, where the drones will operate during the show.
Guests will not be allowed to enter or pass through the land from 8:30 p.m. until park closing.
The restriction means several attractions will become unavailable before the rest of the park shuts for the night.
That includes Alice’s Tea Party, Castle Carrousel, Snow White’s Adventures, Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall, and Dumbo The Flying Elephant.
Tokyo Disney Resort also warned guests to leave extra time if they need to travel across the park.

“During the period of entry restrictions, passage within Fantasyland will be prohibited,” Tokyo Disney Resort confirmed. “Please allow ample time for your journey.”
The resort said the restrictions will be removed if bad weather cancels the show or if the performance goes ahead without drones.
Nighttime Entertainment Is Also Changing
The Fantasyland announcement comes during a busy summer for Tokyo Disneyland’s nighttime entertainment.
Earlier this month, Tokyo Disney Resort also suspended Sky Full of Colors, the fireworks show shared by Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. The hiatus is scheduled to continue through September 14.

The resort pauses fireworks every summer, although The Oriental Land Company has never publicly explained why. Many fans believe Tokyo’s hot, humid weather and frequent rainfall make fireworks more difficult to operate during the season.
The Fantasyland restrictions are also temporary. They are expected to end after September 14, when Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams finishes its limited run.
Guests visiting before then may want to prioritize Fantasyland attractions earlier in the evening instead of waiting until the final hour before park closing.
