There are many refurbishments on the calendar around the Walt Disney World Resort, and the latest will take place on one of the most underrated Disney theme park shows.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to some of the most iconic shows at Walt Disney World, including Festival of the Lion King, and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond. Both live musical productions are often considered must do’s for Guests visiting this Disney Park, with many people even planning their entire day in Animal Kingdom around their showtimes.
One show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that tends to “fly” under the radar is Feathered Friends in Flight. This live, educational show on the birds that call the theme park home is set for refurbishment, and we’ve got all the details so you can plan to see it on your next trip.

According to Disney’s official website, Feathered Friends in Flight in the Asia section of the Park will be closed for refurbishment from September 11-24, 2022. While the show has undergone a number of changes from its original version as Flights of Wonder, to later versions featuring characters from Disney and Pixar’s Up! (2009), the upcoming refurbishment will simply be used to undergo routine maintenance.

Feathered Friends in Flight takes place multiple times throughout the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with the latest showtimes being made available during your trip in the My Disney Experience app. The show is a hit with Guests of all ages as it showcases a variety of unique birds including owls, vultures, parrots, and a bald eagle, just to name a few.

Join the animal behavior specialists for a behind-the-scenes look at the free-flying birds of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Visit Anandapur Theater to learn how these specialists care for and train their feathered friends.
