First Things We Do When Arriving at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT

Epcot is an amazing park that many guests love to spend time in while in Walt Disney World. Home to both Future World and World Showcase, Epcot features some fun attractions, entertainment, shopping, extensive dining options, and much more. Guests are smart to spend full days in Epcot to be sure to enjoy all that it has to offer, but they might not necessarily know where to start in the mornings to make the most of their time there. Here are the first things that guests should do upon arriving at Epcot to ensure that they have an amazing day!

1. Treats at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie

A great way to start off a day in Epcot is by heading directly to the France Pavilion in World Showcase and enjoying a delicious treat at a classic French bakery. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie serves up a delicious array of traditional French delicacies including pastries, sandwiches, coffees, and desserts. Guests will be sure to love beginning their day with options such as croissants, macarons, eclairs, beignets, Croque Monsieurs, and more!

2. Stroll Through World Showcase

After enjoying a wonderful treat in France, guests can stroll leisurely through World Showcase and work their way around World Showcase Lagoon towards the Mexico Pavilion. Since many guests tend to spend their mornings in Future World, World Showcase is always quiet and enjoyable as guests can enjoy the ambiance, music, and charm of each country with lower crowds than later in the day.

3. Ride Frozen Ever After

Once in the Norway Pavilion, guests can then stop and enjoy a favorite attraction that brings the Disney animated film Frozen to life. Frozen Ever After invites guests to a summer snow day celebration thrown by Elsa and Anna in the kingdom of Arendelle. With vibrant scenes featuring favorite characters including Olaf, Sven, Kristoff, and the trolls, guests will love this boat journey. The highlight is getting to see Elsa herself on the balcony of her snow castle singing the hit song “Let It Go.”

4. Ride Test Track Presented by Chevrolet via Single Rider Line

Guests should then work their way towards Future World where the initial rush of the day should be quieting down a little bit. Test Track Presented by Chevrolet is a great first attraction to enjoy in this area of Epcot thanks to its unique Single Rider line where guests can enjoy a typically shorter wait as long as they are okay with their party being split up at the loading area. The attraction brings guests on a thrilling adventure as their designed SIM cars are tested on the track in many different scenarios including a high speed outdoor lap that offers up great views of Epcot.

5. Ride Soarin’ Around the World

After enjoying Test Track Presented by Chevrolet, guests should head directly across Future World to enjoy The Land Pavilion. Located on the lower level of the pavilion is the popular Soarin’ Ever After where guests can take to the skies on an unforgettable hang gliding adventure over beautiful locations across the globe. The queue for Soarin’ Around the World features an interactive trivia game that guests can enjoy before setting off for scenic locations including the Great Wall of China, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Iguazu Falls.

6. Ride Living with the Land

Next up on a perfect morning in Epcot is another attraction located just across from Soarin’ Around the World on the lower level of The Land Pavilion. Living with the Land is a relaxing boar ride that brings guests through various environments and beautiful greenhouses to showcase the diversity and beauty of the land itself. The greenhouses are loved by guests as they get to see firsthand innovative growing techniques and stunning vegetation while also learning some things along the way. Living with the Land is a great way to unwind after a thus far busy morning in Epcot!

7. Lunch in Sunshine Seasons

By this point in the day, guests are sure to have worked up an appetite and the lower level of The Land Pavilion is also home to a popular and amazing quick service location that serves up healthy options including ingredients that were grown right there inside of the massive greenhouses! Sunshine Seasons features several ordering bays that each focus on various types of cooking or cuisine and guests are sure to love options including Oak-Grilled Salmon, The Land Crusher, Power Salad with Chicken, and Whole Wheat Pizza in addition to absolutely decadent desserts offered up in the bakery section.

8. Ride Spaceship Earth

After lunch, guests should stroll to the very front of Epcot and enjoy the classic Spaceship Earth. Since the queue for the attraction tends to back up in the mornings and guests typically stop there first, visiting after lunch is a great way to experience a typically lower wait time. The slow moving attraction brings guests on a journey through time as Dame Judi Dench narrates the development and changes of communication over the years. With a fun interactive element at the end, Spaceship Earth is a must do in Epcot on any day!

About Caitlin Kane

Caitlin Kane first started visiting Walt Disney World when she was two years old, and despite spending most of that trip quarantined with the chicken pox she managed to fall in love with the place. Visiting WDW every year since, she especially loves learning all about the history and small details of the parks and eating/drinking her way through the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival each fall. When she's not in Disney, Caitlin lives in New York and spends her time counting down the days to her next trip.
