Guests were excited to find out that Typhoon Lagoon will be opening on January 2nd. This Water Park has not reopened since the COVID-19 pandemic closures in 2020.
If you’re going to be spending the day at a Park, discovering what to eat is going to be a part of your day. If you are a vegetarian or vegan or even like to limit the amount of meat you eat, sometimes finding a good option can be difficult.
Walt Disney World has become good about adding more plant based options to their menus. A few years ago, finding options that vegetarians are vegans could have was much more difficult.
If you enjoy plant based food and plan to go to Typhoon Lagoon, this will be exciting news for you. There are four plant based options at Leaning Palms, one of the Water Park’s quick service restaurants. Here’s what they are listed as on the Walt Disney World website.
Impossible™ Island Burger – Impossible™ Burger with Sriracha Mayonnaise, Pineapple Relish, Lettuce and Tomato served on a Brioche Roll, $12.29
Roasted Tofu Rice Bowl – Jerk-roasted Tofu with Pigeon Pea Rice, Roasted Corn, Pepper, Pineapple Salsa and Sweet Plantains, $10.49
Crabless Crab Cakes – Crab Cakes topped with Mango Chutney served with French Fries and Cilantro-Lime Slaw, $12.49
Caribbean-spiced Salad – Mixed Greens, Mandarin Oranges, Dried Tropical Fruit, Cucumber and Tomato with a Pineapple-Mango Vinaigrette Dressing, $11.99
These options will be available when the Water Park reopens, and all sound delicious.
If you are on the Walt Disney World property and are looking for plant based options, Disney has made it much easier to know what is available for you. There is a little green leaf next to the menu item telling you that it is plant based.
There is a possibility of cross contamination so be aware of that. If you have any specific allergies, let them know because Disney takes allergies extremely seriously.
As for someone who is a vegan, I personally am excited that there are so many new delicious options at Walt Disney World. I’ve seen such a change within the Parks over the years, and it is nice that these options have become more common.
