Slowly things have been reopening at Walt Disney World since the closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Theme Parks have reopened, and we are getting shows and entertainment back slowly but surely. Back in March, Blizzard Beach reopened, but there has still been no word about Typhoon Lagoon. Normally, one water Park will be closed for refurbishment in the winter months and the other will be open. Disney has filed construction permits at Typhoon Lagoon, which could be a good sign. Although there is still no opening date announced, we could be getting closer to it. Once we’re in the winter months, it is a little too chilly even in Florida to swim, although they do heat the water.
If you go on the official Walt Disney World website under Typhoon Lagoon this is what it says. “As a reminder, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park remains closed at this time. However, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is now open!Like the other areas of Walt Disney World Resort, we will welcome back Guests and Cast Members to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park in a responsible way, with a plan focused on health and well-being. View additional details.”
If you have never been to the Disney Water Parks, you need to add this to your Park ticket. Here are a few of the things that this Water Park has to offer:
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool: Experience the drama of 6-foot swells at North America’s largest wave pool and the water park’s signature attraction.
Crush ‘n’ Gusher: Shoot the chute on this gushing coaster-like raft ride—one of the park’s signature attractions!
Humunga Kowabunga: Plummet down Mount Mayday for a near-vertical, 5-story drop—in the dark!
Ketchakiddee Creek: Little squirts get to splash all day at this water wonderland designed just for them.
