Goofy’s Kitchen Review

On a recent trip to California, my mom and I were able to experience Goofy’s KitchenI thought it would be interesting to see how character dining is done now since reopening after the COVID-19 pandemic closures.

We had five days at the Theme Parks but wanted to have a nice meal and treat ourselves. We thought Goofy’s Kitchen would be a wonderful opportunity to relax.

There was a breakfast reservation available, and we were excited to grab it. This restaurant is located inside Disneyland Hotel and was within walking distance from where we were staying. One of the perks about Disneyland is that many of the hotels are within walking distance, so you don’t have to worry about parking.

When we got there, they were accepting walk-ups, so having a reservation was not necessary that morning, but it is still a good idea if it is a priority for you. Reservations were filled up though, so we found that interesting.

We were seated almost immediately, and they do take a Magic Shot with PhotoPass, which is included with your meal price. You do not need to purchase any extra PhotoPass for this.

This restaurant is a typical buffet style breakfast, and they can make you custom omelets if you would like. I have a dairy allergy and am also vegetarian, so we told our server, and the chef came over and asked if I would like her to walk us through the buffet. She pointed out any options that I could have.

She also asked what type of food I liked and said she could make some dietary friendly options for me. I got some vegan Mickey waffles, avocado toast, and hash browns made with oil instead of butter. Disney is wonderful for allergies and specific dietary restrictions, so make sure to speak to your server about that. They will most definitely take care of you.

Although there are no up close photos with characters like you may be used to, they would have dance parties and wave and interact with the Guests as they would go by. Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale were there. For some reason, Mickey was not a part of the crew.

The price is expensive, but you leave full, and you get lots of food. If you want to have more interactions with characters for character dining, you may want to wait because this may not be worth the price for you. We did have a great time and are glad we did it.
