TikTok user @lalos.fitness shared shocking video footage on November 3, documenting the mold and mushrooms found inside their room at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa during their October 19-23 visit to Disneyland Resort. The family of three didn’t immediately realize what was causing their deteriorating health throughout the trip.

🚨 My Family’s Horrible Stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (1600 Disneyland Dr, Anaheim, CA) 😷 We stayed 10/19–10/23, and on our last night (10/22) we discovered mold on the wall and actual mushrooms growing out of it. 🤢 The entire trip, my family of 3 had been feeling sick, sore throats, headaches, allergies, and breathing problems and now we realized why. We had to buy medicine just to get through the stay. When we checked out, we called and emailed Disney immediately. Let’s see what they do about this, because this was unsafe, disgusting, and completely ruined our trip. 💔 #Disneyland #GrandCalifornian #fyp #fypシ #Disney

According to the Disney Park guest’s account, the discovery came on October 22, near the end of their stay. The family had been battling unexplained symptoms since arriving at the premium resort property, which can cost anywhere from $650 to $10,000 nightly.

“The entire trip, my family of 3 had been feeling sick, sore throats, headaches, allergies, and breathing problems and now we realized why.

We had to buy medicine just to get through the stay. When we checked out, we called and emailed Disney immediately.

Let’s see what they do about this, because this was unsafe, disgusting, and completely ruined our trip.”

The family reports their medical problems didn’t end when they left Disneyland Resort. In follow-up comments, the guest described the severity of their situation and frustration with Disney’s handling of the matter:

“[Disney] put my entire family’s health on the line by sticking us in a TOXIC ROOM with MOLD AND MUSHROOMS growing out of the damn wall. We’ve been sick ever since and still getting medical treatment. Imagine paying for a vacation and ending up in a health nightmare. Absolutely disgusting.”

Community Reaction and Similar Complaints

The TikTok post generated hundreds of comments from other Disney Park visitors, many of whom shared their own negative experiences at the same property or expressed shock at the conditions documented in the video.

“The fact it’s over $1000 a night makes this unbelievable,” @princesswyn wrote. “We’ve stayed there many times and it’s never been a great experience.”

“That whole resort needs to be remodeled,” said @denisemoore2323. “It’s so old and outdated for what they charge.”

Additional guests reported encountering similar problems elsewhere at Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland Resort has not issued a public statement addressing the incident or clarifying the actions, if any, taken regarding the contaminated room at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The family indicated they contacted Disney through multiple channels immediately upon checkout, but whether the resort provided compensation or remediation remains unclear.
