The Walt Disney World monorail system is an iconic mode of transportation within the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. With its futuristic design and efficient service, the monorail is not just a practical way to get around the resort but also a memorable experience for visitors of all ages. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views as they glide above the resort grounds, passing by various iconic landmarks such as the Magic Kingdom park, Disney Springs, and the resort’s luxurious hotels like the Grand Floridian and Contemporary Resort.

The Disney monorail plays a significant role in enhancing guests’ overall Disney experience. It offers convenient access to different areas of the vast resort complex, making it easier for visitors to navigate between the various theme parks, water parks, and resort hotels. The monorail system consists of different lines, each serving specific areas, such as the Resort Line connecting the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

While riding this iconic and beloved Disney attraction is normally a dream come true for guests, that is not always the case. For some guests, their experience has been ruined by certain guests peeing inside the ride vehicles, a disgusting trend that has happened more often than Disney would like.

The monorail journey itself is an attraction, providing a moment of relaxation and wonder amidst the excitement of a Disney vacation.

The Walt Disney World Monorail is not just a mode of transportation; it is a symbol of innovation and imagination synonymous with the Disney brand. The sleek monorail trains, featuring different colors like Monorail Red, Monorail Blue, and Monorail Silver, add a touch of whimsy and nostalgia to the overall Disney experience. For many guests, riding the monorail is not just about getting from point A to point B – it’s about immersing oneself in the magic and fantasy that Walt Disney World is known for.

Repeat Offender on Disney’s Monorail?

However, Boarding a monorail car at Walt Disney World can sometimes lead to unexpected sensory experiences. One guest’s particular ride involved an unsettling odor reminiscent of urine, prompting a quick survey of the young passengers on board. Suspicion lingered, contemplating the possibility of a mischievous act discretely carried out by one of the children.

Even more startling, the unsettling encounter was not an isolated incident, as a subsequent journey on a different monorail later that same day revealed a similar unpleasant smell. This recurrence of the off-putting scent left one pondering whether there was a mischievous repeat “urinating” offender among the monorails of the Magic Kingdom or if it was simply an unfortunate day marked by unpleasant odors permeating the transportation system. The guest reports:

“Got on a monorail car that smelled like pee. Looked with narrowed eyes at every kid in there, certain that one of them had done the honours. Got on another mono later that day and it smelled just as bad. So either there was a serial monorail urinator in the Magic Kingdom or it was just a stinky day for monorails.”

Underneath this post, many others comment on similar behaviors during their Disney trips. Could this be the beginning of an unsavory trend at Walt Disney World Resort? For the sake of all guests involved, we hope no.
