Guests and Cast Members Evacuated From Two Disney World Resorts

Last night brought an unexpected disruption for guests staying at two of Walt Disney World’s most popular deluxe resorts, with emergency evacuations taking place at both Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

According to Kenny the Pirate, both Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort were evacuated at approximately 8:00 p.m. on July 24, 2026, following what appeared to be separate fire alarm activations.

Located on Crescent Lake within walking distance of EPCOT’s International Gateway and a short boat ride from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the neighboring resorts are among the most sought-after hotels at Walt Disney World. While they share several amenities—including the recently refurbished Stormalong Bay water recreation area—the two hotels operate independently.

Kenny the Pirate reports that guests at both resorts were instructed to leave the buildings while cast members also evacuated as part of the emergency procedures. One guest dining at Ale & Compass Restaurant inside Disney’s Yacht Club Resort said their family was asked to evacuate during their meal. After guests were permitted back inside, the restaurant reportedly waived the cost of the family’s dinner.

Although Walt Disney World regularly performs fire alarm testing across its hotels and attractions, those scheduled tests are typically communicated in advance through posted notices for guests. Based on reports from Kenny the Pirate, there was no indication that the July 24 evacuations were part of a planned test.

While the cause of the alarms has not been confirmed, the incidents appear to have been precautionary, with no reports of an actual fire or injuries.

The response reflects Disney’s long-established approach to operational safety. Across Walt Disney World Resort, cast members are trained using the company’s “Five Keys” philosophy: Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency. Safety remains the highest priority, guiding procedures ranging from attraction operations to resort emergency responses.

Although an unexpected evacuation can temporarily interrupt a holiday, Disney’s emergency protocols are designed to prioritize the well-being of both guests and cast members whenever an alarm is activated. In this instance, the procedures appear to have worked as intended, allowing both Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort to resume normal operations once the buildings had been cleared and deemed safe.
