This Beloved Fireworks Show Is Returning to Walt Disney World

Fireworks are a major part of any Disney vacation whether at Disneyland Park or the Magic Kingdom (and EPCOT with Harmonious).

During today’s Parks panel at the 2022 D23 Expo, Jordan Fisher took the stage to perform a certain iconic Disney fireworks song, leading fans to wonder whether we would get some exciting news fans had been hoping for…

Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, confirmed that Happily Ever After will return to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World!

Fans of the show will be delighted to learn that Happily Ever After will once again take over Cinderella Castle and inspire Guests watching the show from Main Street U.S.A., beginning next year in 2023. The 50th anniversary officially comes to an end on March 31, 2023, so it is possible that Happily Ever After will return on April 1, 2023.

Disney has not yet confirmed an official date for the return of Happily Ever After, but we expect that it will return at the conclusion of the 50th-anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World as Disney Enchantment is the current nighttime fireworks spectacular running just for the occasion.

During the announcement for the return of Happily Ever After, D’Amaro also briefly mentioned that it will be a part of a new nighttime spectacular. His wording was (perhaps intentionally) vague, so we will continue to check on updates regarding all-new nighttime entertainment in the Magic Kingdom, and especially for Happily Ever After.

Disney’s official description for Happly Ever After fireworks reads:

Experience a grand finale to your Disney day with the newest—and most spectacular—fireworks showcase in Magic Kingdom history!
