Showtimes Confirmed for the Return of Disney’s ‘Happily Ever After’ Fireworks

As the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th-anniversary celebration draws to a close, Disney has begun sharing new details on the return of beloved experiences that have been missing since September 2021.

Disney Enchantment, the current Magic Kingdom fireworks show, debuted on October 1, 2021, as a special offering during “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” But the festivities come to an end on March 31, 2023, and many Disney fans are excited to welcome back the ever-popular Happily Ever After nighttime fireworks spectacular.

Disney’s Happily Ever After fireworks initially debuted in 2017 following the final performance of Wishes. The show then took place above Cinderella Castle until the pandemic shut down Disney Parks in March 2020. When the Parks reopened, the show eventually returned but Disney soon announced that its “final” performance would be September 29, 2021.

Thankfully for fans of the iconic fireworks presentation, this “final” showing was not so final at all, as Happily Ever After is now set to return this spring on April 3, 2023.

With the return of Happily Ever After coming up quickly, theme park reporter Scott Gustin was able to confirm that initial showtimes for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom will be 9:00 p.m.

While we are excited for the show to return to this Disney Park, we do have to note that given Disney’s initial announcement of the fireworks’ return; we are unsure if or how much of the performance will be different from the original.

Whether it is just the soundtrack, or if there are some changes to the projection mapping on Cinderella Castle, we are excited to see what the show is like this spring.

If you are hoping to attend the first showing of Happily Ever After in the Magic Kingdom on April 3, we recommend making your theme park reservations as soon as possible. With such a popular show returning, we anticipate high crowds in the Park for that date, so you will want to ensure that you are able to get in (and grab a spot for the show early.)

As always, we will be back with the latest updates out of Walt Disney World here on Disney Tips.
